Most of the online tutorials I use on nettuts.com are done with Camstasia I think.

heres my 2c worth...
camstudio is unknown to me shall compare.
www justintv.com and http://www.ustreams .com
broadcast live [record] rebroacast from save files. [ you can viewin realtime ala video conferenceing if needed.
you need a video camera /mic and can comment as u play your hand. [ it could be used to net broadcast your homie games if your wish bit like a homegrown tv broadcast.].
the recorded file can be reviewed by members/public at will ..
as i have not trialled at length ,Davids point of bandwidth and computer capacity could a an issue but ive trailed a broadcast from my hard drive
and viewed it on my laptop and have the capacity to ' live chat' oppsite the screen in real time..
An idea ...subject to venue /league approval 'live net broadcast of away/final games could be possible my biggest weakness is in camera capacity to read the cards on tables /dealt lighting and etc. I have a trail file of my winning a FT prize package to Sydney.
David ..Murrin Media interest ??

Re: Organising a sweat session, need some tips
found this instructional video on how to make a small wmv file.
this guy gets it down to around 100 meg for an hour, with awesome quality, which is just insane.
i am gonna try and get this going over the weekend if i have time.
it looks like it takes a bit of time to set up, but once all of the settings are set up, you wont ever have to change them.

i also found a post on 2p2 that does it in a slightly different way. the files are bigger, but its a little simpler in the setup. i reckon the video above is the way to go about it. if you take a little time and get it set up properly the first time, then it will be better for everyone.

i prolly wont have time this weekend (ripping up tiles in the house) but someone should give this a go and post it for us to have a look at and make some comments.
megaupload (google it) is a decent place to upload your files
hopefully we can get to a point where we can share videos and collectively improve our games.

they probably use professional software though.
everything the guy uses is free, and he obviously isn't a professional, so the quality is pretty awesome for free stuff.
but by all means, if you know software/settings that will do it better, than i am all ears!

Re: Organising a sweat session, need some tips
I've made some gaming movies before and it's not that hard to make some basic videos. Some people used to do like 90 mb for 6 minutes with some a lot of action on screen, I imagine you'd get an hour or more of just poker play + sound for that.

Re: Organising a sweat session, need some tips
its obv not that hard to make vids, but the point is to find some good settings that allow an hour or more within a decent file size.
is anyone gonna kick us off my making a video?

Re: Organising a sweat session, need some tips
watched this vid in my lunch break today.
its 6 tabling NL50, but his reasoning is very good, and the way he plays induces them to spew a few times. very good vid.
