Ok, if no one else is going to, I'll say it...

What the HELL is with the flop lead in hand one?

Well he did say "Soul read" - so I am guessing he did have some reliable lead he was acting on.

He was bagging me the other day for playing OOP and then raising the flop with bottom pair lol

hm dont like the call there with AK off. 4x bb bet utg is a bit strong (for me anyway). in any case u open with 4x bb utg, and two guys shove and aren't worried about you opening 4x bb utg. obv fold here. when theres a 4bet or 5bet think about what they range you on and why they'd shove given your range. u'd have 5bb left but gain 1 position itm and if thats a turbo you got enough to push or fold your way up a few positions to get more cash.

if you bet less than 3 or 4bb from utg, then you're not betting enough. 4bb is completely fine.

now the mid position person shoves. his range is fairly strong because he knows that CT is comitted to the hand. i would say something like 77+, ATs+, AJo+.

the second person that calls, even though he is short stacked, i think his range is a bit stronger than this, and is weighted towards pocket pairs. i would say something like 99+, AKs, AKo

i would say that these are pretty tight ranges, and depending on who the players are, these could be heaps wider than this.

now, lets run the numbers.

after the shove and the call, there is 34739 in the pot, and 7454 for CT to call. this means he is getting 4.66:1 on his money here.

Hand 2: 42.432% 37.42% 05.01% 1318743957 176663117.50 { 99+, AKs, AKo }

so even with these ranges, we have 27% equity, which means we need at least 3.7:1 to make a call. thus we are getting odds to do so.

another thing to consider is that min cashes in those 180 man tourneys are HORRIBLE, and you really dont start making the big money until you get in the top 5. top 18 pay, and from 18th to 10th is all the same cash (correct me if i am wrong here CT).

so you really wanna be going for the win, not for a min cash.

18th to 10th all pay same you are correct sir.

It was definately a sigh call. But one that had to be made.

Now to answer for the first hand. I didnt realise than the third player was in the hand when i opened on the flop. Thought it was me v sb. Multitasking fail. Then once i committed myself on the flop I shoved the turn. I didnt think he could have much given limp pre and a flat on the flop.
