Chuck Norris, Meet Bond18
Posted 5 minutes ago by FerricRamsium
First into the pot from the hijack seat, Charles Norris open-shoved his last ~300,000. We prefer to call him Chuck, though. Next door, Tony "Bond18" Dunst reshoved for 816,000, and the action wasn't done yet. When the button folded, small blind Ian Gordon called with his covering stack, and that put both players at risk and gave us a three-way showdown for the cameras! Cards up, gents:
Norris: [as][th]
Dunst: [ac][kd]
Gordon: [qc][qs]
Dunst stood from his chair to sweat his all in while Norris took the more conservative, more optimistic seated approach to his own sweat. Dunst was the only one chatting: "Well, if I have to go out, this is an admirable way to do it."
Ah, not so fast, Mr. Bond18.
The flop brought Dunst a pair with [6h][3d][kc], and the turn [6s] meant that Norris was drawing dead and eliminated pending a fair river card. He finally stood to prepare for his exit, and the dealer filled out the board with the [ts]. That's just fine with Dunst, and he earned the knockout to more than double up his stack.
He's up to about 2.1 million now, though we'll have to wait for him to finish stacking up to get a better count.

Re: WSOP Rail Thread
Apparently Dunst took another bad beat to knock him back down before the break.

One For the Cameras
Posted 33 minutes ago by FerricRamsium
Okay, you'll no doubt see some of this hand on ESPN. It happened just before the break.
Table 372 has been going nuts today, and another all-in shout drew our attention over there once again. When we walked up, it was Ian Gordon all in for 1.035 million against Tony Dunst. We arrived just in time to see Gordon's sour look as he turned over his [as] [qd] against Dunst's [ad] [ah]. A player across the table mentioned that he'd folded the last ace in the deck.
There was a long pause for the television crew to make their way over, and Dunst was chatty. "You have about a million, Ike?" Dunst had his opponent easily covered, but he was apparently concerned about the potential damage. And with good reason. The dealer burned a card, and Dunst was the one standing.
The {[qs] peeked right in the window, and the dealer slowly peeled it sideways to reveal the [qh] right below it! The full flop ran [5c] [qs] [qh], and Dunst was drawing dead thanks to the last ace being safely in the muck already. The turn and river were the [2d] and [2h].
Thanks to that sickness, Gordon has found his unlikely double up. He's back over 2 million now, while Dunst has taken a big hit to put him down 900,000.

Candio "Andiamo"ing His Way to the Penalty Box
Posted 3 minutes ago by F-Train
Filippo Candio is spending a whole orbit away from Red 369 after recently winning a huge pot against Michael Skender. Candio wound up all in pre-flop for 1,636,000 with [ad] [ah] and was called by Michael Skender with [qc] [qd]. That wasn't the issue. The issue started after the board rolled out safe for Candio, [kd] [2d] [2h] [6d] [9c] .
With the pot secured, Andio started gutturally shouting. He popped out of his chair, ran in circles around the corner of the room -- right in front of the Red Section media tower -- and shouted, "ANDIAMO!" several times. This shouting went on long enough and was loud enough to bring the entire Amazon Room to a halt. (We're sure the ESPN cameras that were capturing all of the action had nothing at all to do with Candio's hysterics.)
Rule 44 of the 2010 World Series of Poker Official Tournament Rules states in relevant part, "Excessive celebration through extended theatrics, inappropriate behavior, or physical actions, gestures, or conduct will be subject to penalty". Tournament supervisors were quick to assess a one-round penalty on Candio for his theatrics.
Candio will have roughly 3.4 million chips waiting for him when he comes back from his penalty. Skender, the loser of the hand, is down to 2.4 million.

Re: WSOP Rail Thread
Johnny Chan busted today (after running KK into AA for a 5 million odd pot, then JJ into AA for his remaining chips a short while later), but Michael Mizrachi is up to over 5 million so far today.
