Not sure how far you will get with this thread Krunchie, its a bit of a grey area to talk about specific sites, in fact one site in particular is banned for conversation.

There are lot of good poker sites. Ths site linked on this forum (www.poker.com) gives a good review on many of the best online sites.

Here are some tips i have read along the way about online poker:
- be very careful about the limits you play, only about 2% of your bankroll should ever be wagered at any one time for a MTT and about 5% for SNG games. You shouldn't move up levels until you have this amount.

- look carefully at the amount of players online. At uncommon times in places like the US, there may not be many players online, making the standard of players generally slighty higher (in my experience).

- Turn the TV off, and close your browser. The easiest way to lose money/chips is to start procrastinating or lose concentration. Its often harder to concentrate in online games compared to live games, but i find that playing some music and playing only one table at a time prevents distractions.

- Bluff less. Players in online comps dont have the 'walk of shame factor' that people do in live games, meaning they will often call you with a wider range of hands. Meaning bluffs work less.n You should also be prepared to call with a slightly larger range of hands then you might in live play as online players are generally inclined to be looser with their chips (especially early in tournaments).

- take a crap before you start playing. Breaks are only every hour on most sites, and if you have ever done the dash back from the loo with your pants around your ankles only to find pocket Aces just time out before you play them you will relate to this - it only happens once.

This is why you need a wireless mouse/keyboard, and a screen that you can see from the bathroom :D

Hey, I play on that site! Have just doubled my initial deposit, woo :D

But seriously, I started somewhere years ago and that was a pretty good site. I only recently started playing for money in the past couple months. I too would recommend the site that benny the cunt is referring too, it has a great range of games and good features. The only disappointing thing is that the minimum deposit is $50, a bit steep.

Edit by Pete - please don't mention specific sites guys.

Yes I agree with AK good site and freeroll are a pretty good start for you to get used to before you commit your cash.
