with A2 suited you wanna see the flop as cheaply as you can...
I was hoping for the other guy hit ...
Tony G should not be allowed to criticise other player like that...
he is not a very good role model :?

smortspeople - role models
poker players - dont need to be role models

tony g - i personally think that it is all an act to try to put everyone else off their game - same as mike matusow.

as long as NPL players don't try to impersonate these players (some people like to think they are pros and mouth off), then its all good

Tony played the hand perfectly. He sensed weakness from Ralph Perry (as I did) after he took so long to make a move. Seeing Ralph's response (body language, demeanor) would've told him that his A was ahead. And it was most probably was, it was the SB vs the BB. I probably would've tried to push Ralph off it too.

BUT.

That doesn't give him any excuse to act like a tool. Poker is all mind games, and he played the hand perfectly... but he didn't need to continually berate Ralph after the hand was over. You played it well, got him to call, you're raking in the chips... move on.

HAHA thats awesome. Id love to see the next time those two are on the same table - and if ralph perry outplayed tony g. I don't necessarily like Tony G, but i certainly enjoy watching Tony G.

I once saw (i think on ESPN but i cant remember) a lengthy heads up match between tony g and devilfish Ulliout (spelling?). Was some of the best poker i have ever seen.

A few of the poker forums i have visited have had a topic on this at one point or another.

The main things that people have said when you think about it. Is that he got a professional poker player to do all the things that he wanted him to do.

He wanted him to go all in, and he did. Tony called knowing he had him beat.

I think the best way of describing the way he went off at the Russian. Is mainly to think of it this way. If you are at the pinnacle of your game, and you have someone who is representing their country at the tournament. Don't you want to be playing against the best.

Now if you come across someone who is second rate. Are you going to go and say look your a crappy player but well done to have gotten this far. Some people do, other people will let that player know, that they are crap, and that if they are getting pushed around by other players on the table, they shouldn't consider themselves to be a poker player.

I was sponsored into a T6poker Pot Limit Omaha by Tony G and Pokernews. 315 Euro's. I actually came back and watched the final three tables, because Tony G was playing. To tell you the truth, it seemed that he was genuinely happy to lose to the other players, because they had all been sponsored into a tourney that they might haven't had otherwise played. And he wanted them to take the winnings and the split a la the partnership arrangements.

From what i have also heard from a lot of other live players, is that Tony G away from the tables is one of the better people out there. Read the captain Tom, Brandi Hawbaker stories. Hell go to neverwinpoker and read some of their forums.

There are a lot of dishonest players that will scam people. Someone who is upfront and honest will always have my respect.

Brett.
