Ok just to be a little clearer
Have been playing some really bad poker and a lot of this is due to sleep deprivation. Went to Kyneton to play last night and then off to a friends house untill 4 am. Back up at 8 am to Christmas shop with the kids so was buggered. Husband in bed and the kids were watching movies in their bedroom. Saw a knock out tourney on full tilt and thought no I shouldnt play given the amount of sleep I have had this week. Luckily I didnt trust my judgement and go to bed as about 30 minutes into the tournament I smelt a horrible smell. Thought it was from the dim sims that my son had cooked earlier but then looked outside and could see smoke. Went outside and my garage/workshop had flames shooting out of it. Got the kids and hubbie out, got the cars out of the driveway while my son called the fire brigade. They managed to save the house which we have just finished renovating but the garage and contents are all gone (due to the renovations we had stored all of the photos, sporting memorabilia and all of my npl/888 trophies there along with alot of other things.
It took me 5 minutes to get the kids and husband out of the house as they did not believe me and had I choosed to sleep instead of play I would have been the other side of the house none the wiser. Thank you poker you saved me today :!:
Side note to this gotta love my 13 year old son the only thing he took from the house was my laptop so I could continue to play my tournie. And no I didnt lol

Wow. So glad your family is safe ..... and well trained.

Hope all is well over christmas. Losing a shed is a lot easier losing a complete house.

thank you all. I was so glad that the family was out and that was the main thing. Before the fire brigade came we went into our neighbors to tell them to get out as you never know how fast these things can spread. The first ones were grateful and took there kids to the end of the street with mine, The second said ok and shut the door. It took until 9 oclock for the cat to come back and then we could really say we are all ok.

WOW ... glad all is ok , although some material possessions have been lost !

Things could have been worse for sure ...

What changed your mind to play the game and not go to bed ?

This to me is the blessing !

All the best ..
