OK so Macka and I ran our second annual deepstack challenge yesterday.

big day with 20 runners, 10k start stack 25 minute blinds, all 888pl devotes and more than a few Mistress Poker members.

My day was pretty un eventfull untill i ran my qq into kk against the tightest player in the venue, i raised up to 1600 pre and got re raised to 6k (he left about 1k behind) i knew i shouldnt have continued but i convinced my self he was making a move with AK, i was wrong so when i shoved over the top he insta called and i was left with about 2k with the blinds around 400.

A table change later and i found my self to the right of the loosest and probably worst player at the venue ( im sure AK can tell you who that was), i was lucky enough to double up with 22 against his 1 paint card then doubled again with king rag vs his jack rag.
this left me with about 8k with the blinds around 400/800.

I was holding KK from the big blind i think, i had both AK and benny the cunt Macdonald in the hand with benny the cunt in early mid and AK the button from memory.

I made the decision i was going to slow play the kings and see if i could get both players in the hand, so benny the cunt just called and AK raised the button to around 2300 from memory, i just flatted, benny the cunt folded.

Flop came 4 RAG RAG ( help me out boys i cant remember)

knowing that AK can be agressive i checked looking for an oppourtunity to get all my chips in, as i belive he would have folded a shove here.

AK sizes me up then bets 6k enough to put me in, i insta call and roll my KK.

Ak shows A 4

Turn - RAG

River - 4

and i was gonski, and to tell the truth i was hurting, i really thought i was going to double then and with 18k i thought i could make a real comeback.

Ohh well, AK went on to take out the tourney and I turned 15dollars into 165 on the side table, making the best read in my life for a 160 pot.

All in all a good day

That guy was a laugh. Nice enough guy, but MY GOD did he tilt me. "Ohh yeahhhhh" every 3 seconds. Made me put my headphones in.

Blinds 400/800. Effective stacks are benny the cunt 30k~, myself 26k~, Krunchie 7k~.

benny the cunt limped UTG, I made it 2300 from UTG+1 with [As] [4s]. Fold from Glenn, Krunchie flats OTB, SB, BB and benny the cunt fold.

Flop falls [6h] [4c] [9d]. I eye up his stack and put him all in for 6k (or thereabouts). Krunchie snap calls, rolls [Kh] [Kd]. Oops, guess he didn't have paint then. And yeah, [4d] river and I ship the pot.

Fwiw, Krunchie played the hand well and I got lucky. He made the right move, knew I would be aggressive and got me to put it in while behind. Nothing else you can do.

I too had a great day mate and would be back for more.

lol i think i have played with aaron a little too much!

there was once where aaron checked the flop that was all diamonds, then led on the turn. the other guy tank folded top or second pair as far as i know.

i knew aaron was full of it, so i told him i would have snap jammed any bet he made on the turn there.

another hand i read aaron correctly for TJ, when i wasn't in the hand.

aaron came up to me afterwards and said (politely) that i should probably be quiet, because noone else knows how aaron plays up in waikerie.

thinking about it, i apologised to aaron, because i was pretty much telling everyone else how he plays. this kinda thing does on in aaron's shed all the time because everyone has played with each other for ages now, so noone thinks twice about it

made me think that i have played a hell of a lot with aaron :D (and that i should keep my mouth shut the next time we go to waikerie)

lol yep

chris was weird when he was playing, because he would tell you exactly what he had if you asked him! no i am not joking at all.

saved me 2 buyins in the cash game i reckon.

the problem was, he was smashing the deck so hard, that he had 2 pair just about every hand!

Bingo it was chris

he can actually play but chooses not to, he is all about being the maniac and having fun, not that its all that fun to play against.

Its funny you say that about AK benny the cunt because macka was a lot like that at the table with me, putting me on hands all the time etc, untill i had a chat to him about it because i was sick of everyone benifiting from his reads, otherwise they would all be clueless.

but its all good

He called the turn, folded the river while I was making the amount (12,600) in my hands. Also, how could you tell that I was fos? Did I give a physical tell? Or was it my line?

The table talk I said gave it away - "if you had more I could call, implied odds and so forth, but you haven't got enough."

thats right, i had it slightly wrong

the reason i thought you were fos is because, in my experience, against a passive player, you very very rarely check the flop and then bet the turn for value. if you had any piece of the board, you would have fired the flop against a player that is rarely going to raise you with draw type hands. it was an ace high all diamonds flop and a Q turn i think (correct me if i am wrong again), and AQ and QQ weren't really in your range, so that left raggedy Q high 2 pair type hands as the only hands in your value range, and the rest were bluffs or semi bluffs with mid diamond type hands that you didn't want to lead the flop with.

i am not saying your line is wrong, i mean its exactly what i would have done against that player, who was passive and would only really play his own cards, its just that i thought it was pretty obvious you didn't have much

but then again, if i was the other player in this hand, your line could mean something completely different, and you would check a made flush, set, or even 2 pair to me a lot of the time if you thought i would bet at it.

yeah, but a few people guessed, and i was the only one that got it right :D

definitely my bad, and i will make sure i dont do it again.
