How did the 3 online qualifiers (& Garths Mate) go in the $1000 event?
Anyone cash or have a good story to tell?

Pffftt..... hand selection for the win. Real omaha players already know which two cards will win the hand for them. 4 just confuzzles people.

Its ok Harps, i know its PLHE. Little bit more strategy in the game if your trying to get all the chips in the middle.

Just to get back on topic a bit, did the 888pl winners do any good, stack a celeb, bust out to a cricketing superstar?

Gday All,
Had a great time at the Crown on Sunday the entire poker room was closed off to the public for the event . Heaps of celebs there food and drinks layed on, free vodka and red bull... still havent slept lol .
Jason akermanis was on my table at first , took about 70 % of his stack when i flopped quad 6s and he kept betting at me with a pair of fours. He played every hand and smashed my trip threes with hi j4 off which he hit the sratght on the river..Grrrr
He was obviously out pretty early, had Uncle Arthur and Aaron hamill on my tables also they seemed really nice. Was going ok until this slimy weasel try hard self proclaimed poker pro came on my table.Started raising from the first hand he played with only marginal hands so i thought i would bide my time and take his chips.
Hand which crippled me, slimy weasel try hard self proclaimed poker pro raise for utg +2 for 600 blinds were 100/200 (we are 9 handed) i am 2 behind button with 10/Q of hearts i call, Button calls three runners flop K , J ,9 rainbow , instant movement in my pants as slimy weasel try hard self proclaimed poker pro bets 600 again , call , call
(please if ive played this wrong can someone let me know) Turn 9 , slimy weasel try hard self proclaimed poker pro bets 1200 at it i shove my last 5250 into the pot as the second nine was a little bit of a worry card but in still was convinced i was in front.
Button folds slimy weasel try hard self proclaimed poker pro calls.
Any way we flip em over ah flopped the straight nice says slimy weasel try hard self proclaimed poker pro he has 8/9 offsuit. River you guessed it farking 8. Being a charity event and there being free vodka and red bull you can guess wher i spent the next few hours.
All bad beats aside was a great time and many thanks to 888pl for the chance to have a crack at this excellent event. Maybe next year.
Cheers Jess

Nice 1 Jesse, sounds like you were mixing it up well - shame you got the river sickness.
That would have been cool to have the whole room closed - I would assume the staff were a bit more 'relaxed' than usual too.
How many people were in it?
