After regestration i was like what about the rebuy card and was told all i had to do was spend $5 at the bar to get the extra chips...

I almost asked to be unregistered right there and then.. OMG it was bad. (Plus apparently it was a good night with 30 runners)

about 6 hands in and as yet no preflop raising I give it a go with Ace Jack and got instantly called by two players and the rest fold.

blinds 25/50 my raise was to 250

pot of 750 plus blinds and prior limpers money so about 900 in total.

Flop Ace, 8, Ace.

I'm first to act and bet 500 (1 player calls other folds)
turn card a 10
I push all in (other player without hesitation calls)
I show my Ace, J Other Player shows pocket 5's
and gets his two outer on the river.

I rebuy.

I get put back in as BB, Get a flat tyre and flop the house. I min bet all fold....

Next hand SB
under the gun raises, re raise with pocket 10's.
He calls.
I flop a set and push all in
again instant called other player has pocket kings and lands the big one on the river...

Two strikes i'm out.. Start talking to TD and I end up being the final table dealer.

I have 1 massive chip leader and the rest with about 5 thousand or less...

Massive chip leader turns out has never played before and was told to be aggressive by the TD pre-game and he'll go ok...

Well he was very aggressive... every hand was raised pre-flop. and he leaked chips and this one call really confused me.

He is under the gun, raised preflop (again)
Flop Q, K, 7. Betting carries on for a bit
Turn 9 Betting continues
River Ace. He checks other dude pushes all in for another 15k and the Chip leader calls.

Other Guys hand Ace, King
Chip Leaders 5,3 off...???? he was playing the board his hand sucked so bad.

Chip leader ended up losing all and final was knocked out 3rd

SA Vs WA
SA state finals must qualify to play
WA qualify or pay $10 or $20 to play

SA win and you get voucher or cash or booze...
WA chip protector for first thats it.

SA no cash on tables
WA cash allowed on tables as long as its at a freeroll no a cash tourney

SA no swearing/ aggressiveness
WA call the guy a C*&T and its fair game...

Just so you know the set up in Western Australia.

They have no poker machines. Hence all the ideas are used to attract punters to the venues.

With poker over there, they are allowed to play for money. But due to a few of the different leagues over there and government regulations.

The cash games, must remain separate and distinct from the free games. They can't even give out prizes at the free games. A certain league got into trouble for giving out a $2 card protector for the winner. But that might have been changed.

The free games can't be used to restrict players to play in a final. So with NPL how Top 5 at Venue and top 50 on state leaderboard qualify, you can't use that method to restrict players to play in a final. In effect anybody can play at the final. A certain league has a 3 month season, and has a state final, where it is $10 to enter.

With the cash game side of the league. Cash and points are awarded according to usual methods, such as buyin and players. As such, i think there can be restrictions placed on people participating in the final series.
