A Walk Down Memory Lane

With the sad news that the forum is shutting down I thought I would take a walk down memory lane by posting some of my favourite threads from times past. Feel free to add to the thread.

Probably some of the best threads of all time were created around the time of the first 888PL season and that first GF. I remember how competitive it was towards the end and finishing in the top 10 that season was personally one of my biggest league accomplishments. I am sure Aaron will tell you that was when his poker career peaked lol

one of my favourite threads for pretty obvious reasons was the live reporting thread from the last NPL state final

I can just imagine his reaction.

Actually he was very stoic and stern faced.

for a while i realised i was posting too much, and i tried to limit the posts. i really wanted to stay below dave and garth who were the most at the time.

but then slowly i crept up to them, and after that, all bets were off :D

Nine Things You Won't See This GF

1.) Bogans - There is a reason why Melbourne was voted most liveable city in the world. South Australians making the trip will over will be surprised to see the lack of bogans lining our streets.

Image

2.) Good Weather - Unfortunately Melbourne has a reputation for dishing up bad weather. It could be sunny in the morning but rest assured by the time you have to go outside it will be windy and cold.

Image

3.) The Calling Station - In a $500 buy-in tournament unfortunately you aren't going to see that guy who plays every hand and calls to the river with bottom pair and backdoor flush draws that never seem to make it.

Image

4.) Annette Melton Winning - While the gentleman will want her to stick around for as long as possible, you probably won't see Anette shipping the $60K first prize.

Image

5.) Someone calling Fenech a d0nk - Fenech is no amateur having done particularly well in the recent WSOP but even if he does make a horrible play, I feel sorry for the guy who let's him know about it.

Image

6.) Responsible Drinking - the GF weekend is a time to let loose and play some poker so rest assured the drinks will be flowing all day.

Image

7.) Problem-fee Ante Posting - Once antes come into play there will always be one guy who forgets to post his ante or one older lady who doesn't understand why people keep asking her to put in money when she is not even in the blinds.

Image

8.) Random bet sizing - Unfortunately for online kids like me making raises of $2387 or $5254 or $6969 won't be possible. I'll just have to find other ways to amuse myself.

A table without someone wearing Mistress Poker gear - Mistress Poker has its official launch over the weekend and there is likely to be very few tables where not one player is wearing a MP shirt or hat.
