I have a serious question.
I heard they can cheat with a certain program but I'm not savvy enough to know if they can or can't.
So, what's the verdict, can you cheat on poker sites or not???????

Re: The first beat that made me want to kill a little creature.
People were caught cheating in the last 12 months, which i belive is responsible for changing the online gambling rules in the US,
but i find it nearly imposible to belive that anyone that has worked out that they can cheat the system would sell it and give away any advantage they may have.
There is programs that aid your play such as pokertracker and Pokerstove etc but to buy a cheat, on a site that deals with millions of dollars every day, i cant see that being a posibililty. A poker sites securitly arangements would be masive. Mind Bogling even.

Bob short answer is No, unless they have certain access to progamming tester accounts ala Potripper @ Absolute.
Long answer.
With most poker sites. The only information that they are sending and receiving off you is your hole cards, and the board.
When you see other peoples card at showdown, that is a separate entity that gets send through.
So to be able to change/alter/visualise other peoples cards you need to be able to access the main servers and the satellites servers to alter all the date going to all the people on the site. There are some hackers out there that can do it. But the reward for them is so low, there is no point.
Mind you you have to alter all this data in a split second before it is logged by the main server.
With the potripper scandal at Absolute. One of the CEO's of the company had access to one of the accounts that were used in the intial programming stages to view hole cards to see that correct pots were awarded to the correct cards.
This account was then used by the CEO in association with an account, to win one of the major tournaments for over 400k. The long of the short of it, a few online players asked for the logs, and recieved all the data. Everybodys hole cards, who logged into the room e.t.c every little bit of data. This is where it all came to light. This is an oversight or a sabotage by an employee trying to bring the truth to light, or someone who stuffed up big time.
Either way, don't play absolute or Ultimate bet anymore. Especially after the recent incident at Ultimate bet, where a pot was awarded to Phil Hellmuth, with the worst hand, that wasn't shown at showdown.
The entire UB network is a load of crap, and not worth it for any poker player, at the moment, a lot of recreational players don't realise this, and still play there.
The Kahnawahke Gaming commission which polices these sites. Is now starting to come under fire with one of the board members up on some kind of charges.
Sorry about the ramble bob. But that was the long answer.

Pokertracker tracks the stats of players that you play against, you can datamine but this is forbidden on a few sites. There is another program that uses a group database, this is forbidden and will result in your account getting locked.
Pokerstars has a scanner (i think, not to certain at the moment) that scans your initial run of stars to see what programs you are running. If it finds something that it doesn't like it reports it. But the quick way of getting around this is run it on a separate laptop with a guest or another user account.
Ways around everything.
Pokertracked tracks the stats which gives you an idea of what players are doing. Obviously the more hands, the more predictable they become, rather than making your decision it helps you with your choices. If you know someone raises everyhand, off course you will call down with top pair against them. But if they raise everyhand and only continue bet when they have a pair, if your playing the high cards your gambling against them.
