Also think about the reverse....
Playin higher stakes on stars than here, I can vouch that the average level of play IS lower at lower stakes, but for some reason my ROI is less (not in the $3.30 888PL games), but the 10HU, than at higherstakes.
Maybe I play better at higher stakes, but I try not to. Maybe its cos I only play HU apart from the 888PL games, and most people at 10s are clueless. I have seen somme HORRIBLE plays work out (I think the river is becoming ledgendary on 888 ) so maybe that has something to do with it to... luck or variance, just weird to have < ROI at < stakes (although much smaller sample size to) but I dont really expect it to change much. I do think its bad plays that end up winning that can make a diff (and hence why they keep doin it, cos 'Well hey, it worked once!')

that could be just due to a lower sample size

but you could also just be calling down every time you get min raised on the river, because they are fishy, and leaking chips to them.

interesting.

You're missing the point entirely, if you post a hand to discuss and you give very little to no information on opponents or your table image then generally your response will include a comment along the lines: "well generally players at these stakes will play (or be thinking) ..........".

Sometimes you have to make decisions where you are completely blind in a hand; how often would you make a decision based on your general, previous experience at the stakes you play because your knowledge on you opponent is limited.

That's a good point.

Of all the bits of information you're wanting to accumulate, some of them may have to be largely assumed to try and fill in a blank and come to a decision.

It's not entirely terrible to take a bit of a punt and say to yourself that micro stakes players are on the whole, crap - because they really really are.

If that one player proves you wrong in that instance, I'm positive you'd take note of that so indirectly it's good because you've gleaned some more information.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
