nothing to do with fold equity rcon. you raise AK for pure value preflop.

lets think of a range that people shove with. TT+, AK, AQ.

Yeah I would go from 33+

Guy was open shoving UTG for 18BB's in $33 with 2,2 and 3,3 last night.

the best thing about shoving with AK is you are guaranteed to see 5 cards as well. it has great equity when all 5 cards are out there, but not so if you only see a flop.

Yeah I found that article a few years ago when I was just starting out - changed the way I looked at shoving, that is for sure.

yeah its a good one.

the best thing about AK too, is that it always makes top pair top kicker when you do hit, meaning someone has to have 2 pair or better to beat you, which is pretty hard. you get a CRAP load of value out of AQ/AJ/KQ
