Nope. In a tourney, they are actually worth more ;)

Blinds 100/200. I have 1000 (with two cards).

Folds around to me on the button. I have QTs. Not great, but I figure I can steal here, because I play with SB and BB often, and they're good players. I push. SB insta fold, BB call.

[ad] [qd] vs [qc] [10c]. Eep.

Flop: [2d] [3d] [3s].

Turn: [qs]. Doesn't change a lot. The last Q in the deck will split it, or I can hit the [10s] or the [10h] to win, the [10d] will give my opponent the nut flush. So 2 outs.

River: [10h].

It felt good.

^ I'm sure it did. Felt pretty ordinary from my point of view! :P

Anyway, tonight. I'm mid position with AdQd. Min raise to 1200, folded round to Zack who pushes all in for 4900. Folded back to me and I make the call (figure of the hands that are ahead preflop, he probably wouldn't push with them). Zack turns over AK. Right, flop was two diamonds giving me the nut flush draw. Turn was insignificant, I river a Q and take the pot. Felt good I have to say (sorry Zack!) ;)

I dont think it was that much of a suckout because I'm fairly sure I made the right move in calling. Managed to river a flush against Des tonight as well which was pretty fortunate. I take my fair share of bad beats so I'm happy to accept the suckouts when they come my way!

Just after second break
KK vs Ace-rag all in, lost- had 100 left- 1 black chip.
All-in blind 9-4 hearts flushed up.
All-in blind 10-3 got a straight with the 3
KK all in - set on flop and multiplied my stack 4 times.
K-10 all-in, flopped two kings! (take out guy who got me before)

FINAL TABLE

Hit a set with KK twice on the final table - MASSIVE CHIP LEAD

Heads up and have A-9 and push
get called with?

You guessed it!!

KK

I hit my Ace on the flop and he gets no help, I win. :D

That's pretty sick, Todd. Good to see you cleaning up with the monster, though :D (wouldn't expect anything less :P)

04/09/2008

My Stack 1500
Blinds 25/50
My position: BB
My Hole cards: 45o

UTG raises 150
Button, SB, BB Calls

Flop 8, 4, 2

SB Check, Me 150, UTG raise 300, Button Calls, SB folds and I call

Turn = 4

I bet 150, UTG raises to 300, Button folds, I push all-in UTG calls (I have 50 left over and I actually thought then and there he had pkt 8s for a full house)

Me = trips
UTG, Pkt2 = FH 2's over 4's

River = 8

Winner = MEEEEE!!! FH 4's over 8's

I don't see the point in always pushing in a situation like that. You get a free check, and if the flop suits you then put it in and you'll probably be called post-flop anyway. If it's absolutely nothing, put it all-in the SB and if you happen to win that you have a few more hands to double up.

Exactly. If blinds are 1/2k then for another 1000 the entire table is going to call, regardless of what they have. If you miss the flop completely, and have no draws, fold and put it in on the SB.

particularly sick beat laid on gareth last night at the kinger.

first off, i lose my first card to him when i have A7 and bet into a 7QX board, only to be raised and commit my first card - gaz turns over QQ and i am down 1000 from the start.

but thats not the bad beat

blinds are 50-100, and the table is full of good players that know how to play, and are capable of making a move.

i get dealt [kc] [10c] in the cutoff, and i limp into a 4 way pot. the flop comes

[kd] [js] [5c]

gareth leads out for 200, folds around to me. i think gareth is making a play and go to 400 straight away - i still want him to call in this situation

i am thinking what sort of hands would gareth limp with and hit that board. i narrow it down to KJ, K10, maybe K9 suited, pocket 5s, KQ, maybe QJ or J10

so except for KJ and 55, i am ahead.

gareth insta-allin over the top, and everyone else folds.

now i still think this is a massive play, which gareth is entirely capable of making, and given that his winning hand range is pretty small, i call pretty quickly.

but lo and behold, he turns over [5d] [5h]

DAMMIT, he flops sets twice against me, and i am massively behind.

the the flop again is
[kd] [js] [5c]

turn [jd] to give him a house

river [ks]

LMAO

that is prolly the worst beat i have given

Last night at benny the cunt's skittle game. Ring game, 9 players. Blinds capped at 5c/10c skittles. A $35 skittle pot develops, it all goes in preflop. My QQ vs Zack's AA.

I flop a Q.

It felt really good.
