I was using "the nuts" in its most literal sense: An unbeatable hand. The turn 9 with no heart on the river means J10 would be the best possible hand. The nut straight.

Re: Flop a monster - what are we doing?
so if a player flops the ace high flush, but there is a runner runner straight flush draw out there, has he still flopped the nuts?
of course he has.
the nuts changes though depending on what cards come on the turn and river
this is particularly prevalent in omaha - i once flopped the nut straight, turned the nut flush, and rivered quads!! all of those hands were the nuts at that point in time
of course he has.

benny the cunt said "you lose" for folding pre... but you can't lose if you aren't in a hand.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

the reason i said you lose, is becasue with an M of 70, calling with suited connectors is normal.
if you dont do this with such a big stack, then you are missing out.

It may well be, but I clearly gave the context in which i used the term "the nuts."

Its all well and good to say that, but there are many variables. What if button raises and bb flat calls? what if BB re raises.
Im just saying i wouldnt play 56s from mp. Thats me.

fair enough, each to their own.
this thread wasn't about the merits of playing 56s from mid pos though, it was about extracting value when we flop a huge hand.

No folding here from me.
85% of the time I raise from this position.
Very hard for novice players to put me on a hand like 5,6 when I am raising pre.
And when you do flop the joint like this, you gain so much value against weak ace hands that have hit a part of the board.
I lead strong on the flop to make it look like I am c betting and what the pot closed down there and then.
I then get some muppet presuming I am trying to steal so he flats or re jams with A 8 or an overpair.
