Agree completely - shove is the right move, but it's still getting called.

if you are raising with AT, then most of the time you have to stack off on that sort of flop.

basically what everyone else has said.

You're also forgetting his table image.

So therefore what are the villains cold call range against an experienced tight player.
Obviously because we have the results; fairly loose. But in some circumstances against a tricky player fold is the right decision on that flop.

This is what i thought, after calling 900+ on the flop he aint folding for another 345 with his stack, its just that neither player seemed loose at all in the previous half hour.

Thanks for the input guys, i'll just put it down to bad play. ;)

Its not bad play at all. The hand played out pretty standardly. You will never get Q8 to fold there, not for another 345. Just one of those hands that you can't avoid.

Agreed that this is true in a different format of game, and different circumstances.

But thats probably what had me baffled right from the start, i get 10 bad beats a day, thats poker, but look at this situation in which the two peanuts play.

Its 6-max, one player is gone. Only top 2 get paid.
Noted that its the short stack and big stack doing the calling but, why pick this spot? Why now? Its not a turbo table, blinds are reasonably low although small stack is shoving any pockets or A-9+

If i got a shove like that in a tourny, i probably could lay it down. Cash game = NO WAY

But this play just made sit back and wonder.

Cheers again for input
