well said pete, nice to have you back sir

im sory gmat but if you are not playing hands for the long run then give up now mate,
poker is not a short term game, its about making decsions that make you a profit over a long period of time.

i have 3 kids mate, and if your not thinking of the long run then your not really thinking as far as im concerned.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Yes you can.

But in THIS case, you 100% check then fold to a bet. If you continue aggression you are not getting a better hand to fold, so what's the point? He's not calling with an Ace pre to fold if one hits on a dry board. If he doesn't have an Ace, well that's a minor miracle in itself but still manifested by you passively playing OOP on a table where you just can't do that.

There is no discussion to be had on post-flop play here. This is what we've ALL been trying to tell you.

The rest of it has been well covered by Pete.

Given the size of the pot though any bet needs half decent. The problem is that if he calls then the decision is worse on the turn unless a king comes. Also you would need to make sure the bet was not too big as you would hate have put yourself in a position that you really have to call if he shoves. Alternatively you could flat call and reassess on the turn but again you are stuck in a horrible position if you miss on the turn and he shoves.

In the end I think I check if I think he may have the ace and fold when he bets kicking myself for not shoving pre flop. If he is really a fish and has hit the ace no matter what you do nothing is going to get him to fold.

He's committed 21% of his stack pre, the pot is well over $100 and he has $115 left. What proper C-Bet is not committing himself at this point?

True sorry I had not gone back to the maths of the chips stacks . So given this I check, fold to the raise and kick my self for playing badly pre flop which was my original thought.

Seriously, I've played Crown cash games quite a few times, and the only times I've made money is after I realized that these guys will play any pair to the river (even bottom pair), and chase most hands.....
