theres nothing u can do

same sort of thing happened last night, have a decent chip stack 7k with 400/200 blinds, look down to queens, raise to 1200, the big stack declares all in, i call, he has pocket 10's, rivers the 10

I usually either play them agressively before the flop.
Or unhappily fold after the fold if someone bets agressively again.

But how are they really different from any other pocket pairs out there? (Not being sarcastic, that's a genuine question)

They're ahead, preflop.

:D

The perception is that you have the best hand.

People only remember the half a dozen times that they lose with Aces, but forget the 30 times that they win with them.

People get themselves into trouble by min-raising from early position and getting 4 callers. Remember you still only have one pair, and there are lots of hand on any given night that are won by more than that.

I think people need to play these type of hands with a bit more aggression, and if you lose, well then get over it, you made the correct play and got your money in with the best hand, thats all you can do in poker, The rest is just luck (some people forget that their is some element of luck)

Bloody QJ Pete. Bloddy QJ ... :D

At least the proper gun hand prevailed that night ;)

Nothing you can you when you get your chips in pre-flop with the best hand, and it gets cracked. Post-flop, sure, you can get away from the hand if you're good enough to, but it's something most people just can't do.

It'll make you extremely happy to know Todd, that someone on my table hit quad A's with pockets, just before you got knocked out on them. Must've drained all their luck...

i have won quite a number of hands with AA but im confident ive lost more with them then won. i know that lucks pretty big factor but bloody hell.

renee ziggy would of folded AA much easier to make straights with 2 3 off. plus with AA there not much to chase. which ziggy likes to do without knowing.
