My Bad Beat

Postby Garth Kay » Tue Aug 12, 2008 9:27 pm

Four handed.

On the dealer button, blinds 8000/16000.

Third in chips on 350,000.

Raise to 45,000 on button with AA

SB pushes all in. I insta call.

AA vs JJ

Door card is a J, I brick out.

Crippled to 70,000.

Two hands later in BB

Dealer moves all in I call blind.

Dealer has 47 I roll 46.

DAM. Good chance for a chop though.

Flop KK7 worst flop ever!!!!!
Turn is a six ( WOOOOHOOOOO) two outs for me.

River 7.

And that's poker!!!!! And that's why I love it. Go through a whole tournament (over 20 hours worth) only to get sucked out on for the first time all tourney.

But I would rather have that happen than someone outplay.

I love that sentiment - Poker would be so boring with out that sort of carp. Much better when it happens to others tho ;)

"Embrace the variance" is about you can do hey

Congrats again on your placing.

Bad luck. You want the call, 2 outer.

Like you said, that's poker :)

Garth,
This is exactly the reason all JJ's should be folded or removed entirely from the deck! ;)
But way to go on your result, it is truly awesome to have watched the ups and downs.
Well, more ups than downs.
