Well you'll love this one, because it's not REALLY a novel
So there I am, in a $5 tourney on PKR with about 120 or so runners and not looking too bad nearing the cashout part of the tourney.
Anyway, I'm sitting at around 18k (give or take), about 6 spots after the button and with about 22 or so players left in the game. I'm a little hazy
When I see AA rock up at this stage of the game I get that little gleam in my eyes. When we get an all in for 8k before me just after under the gun, I'm happy to throw it in and so I do -- all of it. I'm figuring high pockets or perhaps an AK/AQ or some other such hand that I'm happy to run against and I really do only want the one runner. I'd be happy with 8k. Then we get the dealer button calling my all in and putting themselves all in in the process.
The cards?
The first All in... KK
The caller to my raise... Q10 off
Flop? A 4 J <-- You can imagine my cheering at this stage! (May not be EXACT, but it was an A and a J out there)
Turn? 10
River? K <-- You can imagine my tears at this stage
Busted me down to 8k and I eventually bailed out of the tourney in 12th... just 2 places shy of making the 'money'
