You're a Bunch of Factors

I'm interested to know how others would have played this hand, whether you'd value bet or try and push them off on the flop/turn/river.

I've just been moved to a new table, Blinds are 100/200.
I have 4.6k and look down at KK. I raise to 600 from 2nd to act, 1 caller with ~7k stack.

Flop [3c] [ts] [tc]
I bet 600, he calls

Turn [9s]
I push all-in for 3.4k as I don't put him on a 10 and want this pot here and now, he counts chips to see how much he would have left, and then calls straight away
What do you put him on?

getting his 5 outer is unlucky, but u want him calling here.

Wed, I had someone flat calls with aa for mp, i hit 2 pair in bb on flop. He hit his 5 outer on the turn. He deserved to lose, but got lucky.

U deserved to win, but got unlucky.

I would've raised to 800 pre i reckon

Pre flop raise is standard, but with no info on the table your opponent I can't advise here.

C bet on flop is too small, you have a paired board that is flushing.

Turn card is a horror card. Shouldn't have pushed, he is calling with best hand, str8 draw and flush draw.
Value bet here, or check behind.

River card. If scare card falls check call. Otherwise don't get aggressive and bet for value. But your bet is only going to get called by a better hand or marginally worse. So the payoffs aren't that great.

I would have played passively post flop in a HU situation here. No shoving or jamming unless I believe I have him beat. There is no value add for betting with K's if I am getting called down by him no matter what. So I play passively to the river and hope I pick up the smallish pot.

Cheers for the comments. I was pretty sure I was ahead on the flop so I value bet, where I should have made a bigger c-bet or pushed all-in and taken it there. When the turn card came I was trying to make it too expensive for him to call on any draws (whether over cards or flush/straight) as I was pretty sure I was ahead. Still, I think I got pretty unlucky for him to hit his runner runner full house. I reckon 1.2k would have been enough to make him fold on the flop but I didn't want that fold, I wanted to get paid off.

as doyle brunson says, AA and KK are dangerous hands, because you either win small pots with them, or lose big ones.

if you can get it all in pre then obviously thats good, but otherwise, if the board has any sort of draws you want to be shutting it down quick smart.

I had the same sort of hand wednesday night.
I have QQ first to act on 10 seat table.
Blinds 50/100 so i raise to 250.
Get one caller and both blinds.
Flop Q 10 6 all different suits.
Big blind bets 200. I raise to 600. everyone folds bar the big blind who calls for the extra 400.
Next car is a 7. Big blind checks.
I bet my remaing 700 chips. he calls.
I have trip Q's he has 10, 9 has hit his 10 no flush draw.
He realises he is so far behind he didn't know he had won win the 8 is turned over on the river.
Grrrrrr. Another earlier night!

I got lucky.

In BB with KK blinds 200-400 very passive table, no raising.

UTG limps and mid position limps, SB calls, I raise 1500 on top, making it 1900 to see the flop.

UTG and MP call, SB Folds.

Flop: J 10 K rainbow.

I push all in for 4.2k, UTG calls with AKs and MP calls with 99.

Turn 4, River J

Unlucky there Brice (aka Steve LOL). He obviously thought he was in front with two pair and an ace kicker and may have put you on a flush or str8 draw.

I may have gone allin post flop and took my chances rather than after the turn. In hindsight you would have had the best hand and he'd only have his A9 and the pair on the table and should fold.

That's sucks mate. Runner runner. He must've put you on AK or AQ so you played it well to get his money in the middle. BTW, I put him on nut-flush draw. What did you put him on?
