I knew if I placed a bet the other player would have folded.

Gold

Hey gundog, if you knew he was going to fold why not bet anyway, he may have a brain fart and call you never know

nothing gained by checking you were 157.7% chance of winning that hand

I agree with benny the cunt, you should surrender your laptop to a tree mulcher and not play poker for 6 months as punishment
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

I made the incorrect heading
It should have been

" I checked all the way and bet on the river "

I had the straight with the possibility of a royal, I played it right to actually see my 1st Royal in about 10 years or more.

Add to that I knew how the table was playing, and it was the tightest I have played, a bet post flop on most occassions opponents would fold.

What was the PF action? The flop doesn't bring you the straight or flush yet - depending on the what you and he did PF, you could have sucked more money out right there.

based on the image (can't see the blind level either, but I'm hoping it wasn't 100/200), he may well have raised from the button, and you flat called? Sadly, I think he limped from the button, and you checked.
