This is how to crack aces.

Postby krunchie » Mon May 18, 2009 11:05 pm

This one hurt

Stars 6 max. sitting 2nd in chips 3 handed.

blinds 50/100.

Im on the button with Bullets

I raise up to 500, sb folds, bb calls

flop Q 10 10

He checks, so i raise 1000 which is enough to put him all in.

Insta call

He rolls Q 10

smashed

Turn 10

Uber smashed.

Didnt cripple me but did make a dent,

Funny enough the same bloke knocked me out in 3rd 20 hands later

with Aces !!! against my top top

its a great game aint it. :)
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

It doesn't matter what people say.... poker is at least 80% luck and only 20% skill... what happened to you is proof in that!! I don't Blam the BB calling you to save his BB with Q-10, leaving the fact your on the button and raised is nearly standerd play at a tight table! Now I wasn't there to see your style of play.... so he may have believed your raise was out to steal the blinds?? Hard to tell I wasn't sitting in his Position..... but I will say if you were playing Tight I would of Folded Q-10 Unless maybe suited! But if you have been playing loose and aggresive, it would of been an easy call! I could bet my life on it he had no Idea you had aces..... But I bet he didn't care about that after the flop! He done a nice trap there to make you act as you were the player to raise $500 Preflop... he is hoping you are holding aces now ;) Even with ace's thats a tough call with a pair rolling out on the flop and this guy calls your raise then checks it on the flop.... again hard to tell as I wasn't sitting see peoples reactions or the way you guy's were playing :)

But I will tell you about my worst Pocket A's Beat...... I was at the final table at the regional finals in Brisbane down on chips and the blinds were killing me and I could'nt catch a card.... then I hit pocket A's in the postion I was in it was an easy all in call..... but I got one caller and everyone else's folds.... well this lady turns over her cards 3D 2S.... Yeah I laughed of course thinking what are you thinking lol.... BUT the flop rolls out 5 K 4 ..... giving her an Open ender and to be honest I though this couldn't happen seriously.... Just to make my hearts skip beats Turn card comes a 6.... I was smashed and to rub it in the River card is slowly turned reavealing...... yup you Guessed it an Ace.... give me trips but giving her the 6 card straight..... it was so sick... Even everyone watching and at the table felt sick on such a crazy call..... That was 3 years ago and it has scared me for life lol

Good luck out there as we all need it up agianst very loose and brave calls

There can only be 1 winner and that will always be Poker :D

Flop is 3 K 4

Turn 6

River A

And you say she made a straight?

Sir, you are more than welcome at any cash table I am playing at.

Obviously he got the hand history wrong, there's a 5 in there somewhere - otherwise it wouldn't be posted.

Maybe but if thats true then the straight was made on the turn and the river Ace is irrelevant. Except in the storytelling.

Sorry my bad it was 5 K 4, I don't know why I typed a 3 but anyway.... I will take you on that challenge to play at your table any day.... name ya price ;)

Yeah and you are right poker whiz she had already hit the Straight on the Turn.... but seeing that Ace come out on the river was a Killer when your holding Pocket ace's in your hand.... so showing trip aces beatin my a 6 card straight.........

Reading over it 50 times this time to make sure I typed that right

You should have given more info in your description of your "bad beat." But I infer from your story that the lady that called you was probably priced in.

If I had 3 high in that situation I would fold, no problem.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
