This is where the mistake lies. you should have raised at least pot sized here. IMO

Perhaps I'm alone in thinking that you could have feasibly folded to the river bet. I mean, when you think about it, the SB check calls a bet-raise on the flop, check calls a bet on the turn, then jams the river, seems fairly clear that either that's the most retarded bluff in history, given the river wasn't exactly a scare card, or he's made a hand. Looking at the board, what hand could he have made that you could beat? Did you think he had a worse 2 pair? To be honest, I'd be thinking he either got lucky with 44 (given his ACTUAL holdings, I find it more than reasonable that he'd limp, check call a bet raise on the flop, call a small bet on the turn, and jam when he hit his set), A5 ("I've hit an ace, I'm good!" combined with "I have a straight draw!"), or A4. I mean, if he was playing a medium ace (one would assume they'd raise a premium ace preflop, and most low aces have you crushed), he's been content to check-call all this way, you'd assume he'd be content to check-call the river too. Players in freeroll tournaments, particularly 888pl freerolls, have very loose calling ranges, and in my opinion the river jam was a good indication that there was at least a good chance you were beaten. Given the jam was for 9300, you could have folded and had a playable, if short, stack, so it's not like it's a must-call situation. I dunno, maybe I just play too tight . And the odds of you winning are absolutely irrelevant when asking if you played it wrong - you did not know what he had until that point, and unless you somehow put him on K5, they're largely irrelevant, unless you want "bad beat pity".

Also.

If you have 5 people in the pot preflop with 400/800 blinds then the preflop pot is 4000 not 2000.

So.

Your 1550 flop bet with 2 callers made it 8650

Then you turn bet 1750 giving almost 5:1 now 13900 in pot.

Opponent hits draw bets all in.

Still say bet more on turn. and on flop.

Thanks for the post. Yes very fair comments. I should have folded the river but that's 2020 hindsight for you.

Guess I am just frustrated here (see my other post) about the way people play and just having a whinge.

I am still alive in this game with 17 others, so hopefully we have reached a stage where noone plays K5 like this lol
