I am writing a small java program that outputs hands from 888 as a small jpg, which you can upload as an attachment. It is 95% complete, just need to complete a few small things like oddites in the Hand ie dead SB, and as you can see in the example, wrong pot size on the river if an allin is called, but not matched...
Here is a sample output: as its not complete I had to use screen capture and crop in PaintShop, so the end product will be better quality.

It will be very small, and when I have finished it, I will post it as attachment so people can download, if they wish.
I also plan to extend it to support Omaha to. Note though that it is coded to specifically parse only 888 hand histories. (if interest is shown I will extend to support other sites possibly)
It is 100% Java, and only uses the standard libraries, so it will be very small, but a recent version of Java will need to be installed on your machine to run it (you should have a recent version anyway for web applets etc

)
This will also eventually be incorporated into the '
realtime hand browser' that I am writing tor 888, which basically has a list of all previous hands played in the tournament, with info of hand number, your hole cards, stacksize
AFTER the hand, colour coded so you can quickly see if you won (green for won, red for lost, black if not in the hand) and position. When you select a hand, it will display the converted hand as shown above in a panel below the list of hands (generated on the fly, so not saved to yout hard disk). This will be a little bigger, and not written in Java but C++ as I need to hook into the 888 client to intercept what is written to the HH file as it is written.
Starting the hand browser application will automatically launch the 888 client, it needs to be done this way so the neccessary 'hooks' can be setup. I
am researching a solution where this is not neccessary though.
Converter should be completed in the next few days, hand browser will take a fortnight or so. The browser will provide
alot more information than the minimalist one included in the 888 client. And will be easier to use and read (image hand history instead of text only etc)
I plan on releasing basic working versions, and incrementally adding features to both programs, for example: for hands like above where all hole cards are known (888 doesnt put mucked showdown cards in the HH file, they only shown when the hand is an allin hand) I plan to add win% for each player preflop and on each street. This will make converting the hand take longer though as these %s need to be calculated, so I will probably include options for just preflop win%, on all streets, or none at all. Exact time will depend on how fast your computer is but will run similar speed to pokerstove. I might even add options for exhaustive search or monte carlo simulation.
Possibly mucked showdown cards can be written to the HH file if the 'Do not show Hand' is unchecked on the poker table window, Im not sure. I will be contacting 888 support to get more information which will allow me to write better software with more features. Ideally in the Hand Browser, I would like to automatically be able to display mucked cards for the current hand as the next hand is being dealt, so you can immediately see what your opponent called you down with

Other sites include mucked showdown cards in the HH file, and some sites also in the built in hand browser, so its not 'cheating' to see this.
Also in the hand browser, the ablilty to 'save tounament' with additional statistics useful for post game analysis (and another on the todo list is software to aid this process). And hopefully adding 'table diagrams' like the ones seen in Harrington. (Yep, I got a lot of work to do!)
BruceKLM has contacted me about the possibility of voice control of the 888 client, and I am going to look into this to, and contact 888 regarding it, as another program serving input to the poker client will usually be detected as a PokerBot (against T&C of all pokersites). Bruce has also kindly offered to host any software I write that is larger than the 256K attachment limit on the forum (the hand converter will be much less than this, so available here from the forum) Thanks Bruce!
I would also appreciate it if anyone was willing to help me in this, by tesing beta versions of the software and providing feedback on the features, usability, any problems encountered etc, and also any feature suggestions.
And of course if you have any ideas on useful software please PM me.
