Dealt QhQc in the 10.30pm freeroll. 25/50 blinds. Folds to a player in MP, who raises to 175. I decide to flat call because I find his bet size unusual. The player on immediate left raises to 300. Folds back around to the original raiser, who calls. I call.

Flop JJ9r. Pot is 975.

Our original raiser preflop pot bets.

Hero ???

Remember I still have the 4b to act behind me.

Stacks preflop:

MP (3b): ~3k.
Me: 2.9k
MP (4b): ~4k.

how does he raise to 175 when the blinds are 50/100??

This is whats hard about turbo's i guess, in that you cant really afford any more information on later streets. i would re-raise pre. he has prob just beat you with AJ.

Fixed the OP. 25/50 blinds.

i think you def have to re-raise pre here. The button and both blinds could theoretically see a flop and you dont want to see a flop 5 ways with QQ, even if it is a premium hand.

i would snap shove after the re-raise instead of calling. dont wanna be multiway there

Were you LP/CO/Button?

Was the 3-bettor a blind, or the button?

What was the thinking behind flatting cos his raise size was 'unusual'?

I think I agree with macca, reraise pre. imo the more premium hand the less you want 3+ seeing a flop.

Not sure Id shove 2K at 25/50 though, but Ive expressed my thoughts on this elsewhere.

with 3 other players in the hand, and in a raised pot, it is NOT about the blind size any more

think of making a standard raise above 300.

how do you do this? with three runners still in the hand, 5x or more would be standard to try and get heads up. that would mean a raise of 1500. this commits you to the hand, so you may as well get it in pre.

in my opinion, any raise here has to be a shove, u can't re-raise to 1200 and expect to fold one of the hands out. then u are playing comitted to the hand and it being multiway.

From his post it sounds like he was just to the left of initial raiser. Mentions reraise by player on his left, then folds following, implying the blinds and maybe the button to, as UTG+ had already folded to the MP raiser???

You may be right benny the cunt, but maybe a reraise to 500 would be abough to get HU? And still allows you to get away (with reasonable chips left) if overs flop and the initial raiser leads out... (are you playin & posting to? ;))

Yep, that was my thinking. Something like LP and cut-off.
