Currently 10 left in tourny blinds 1k/2k
Chip stacks
UTG 10k
+1 10k
Button(me) 7.5k
SB 25k Loose will raise, but not call raises
BB 14k Normally tight good player, aggresive with any ace.
Folds to me and i look at 88, push all in.
SB makes a comment implying very low cards. Thinking 74 or something similar. Folds.
Both UTG and SB is shown the cards of the BB when its his turn to act. At which they start trying to make him call. Both offered him drinks if he called and won. He calls.
Flips 9h 2h
At which point UTG flips his mucked 9d.
flop 9 7 4 rainbow
turn and river brick out
Im not really pissed off about losing the hand as i know it can happen, but he would never call with that if not directly affected.
I know nothing can be done about it, but surely that shouldn't happen.
To make it worse the person in 3rd behind me made the final table and i would have gone on with approx the same chip stack as him.

That is highly innappropriate. In a live tournament at a casino I am sure if BB showed his cards to other players it would be considered a fold and he would get a penalty of some sort. Should be the same in away games.

Incorrect, the cards will be tabled for all players to view so all information is shared with the table. This player would then face a penalty on one or two orbits in this situation.

In this circumstance I would immediately call the TC over. This is direct implicit collusion and the players making the verbal comments inciting to call should at a minimum face a blind level sit out. Considering you are in the points elimination from the tournament in those positions.
And trust me plenty can be done about it. I am interested in what venue this occurred in and whether you notified the TC of this table talk.

I have pm'ed you about the details. As for him having to have tabled the cards after showing the other 2, i dont think it would have mattered because he was the last to act anyway.

That's really poor. That's implicit collusion, not on. Did you call the TC over and complain?

It is still deemed an inappropriate act and an angle shoot. A penalty is enforceable here.
