Flop: ($1.35) 3Image, KImage, 7Image (3 players)
UTG bets $0.60, MP calls $0.60, Hero raises to $2.30 (due to fairly aggressive table), UTG calls $1.70, MP calls $1.70

Turn: ($8.25) AImage (3 players)
UTG checks, MP checks, Hero bets $5.30, UTG raises to $10.60, 1 fold, Hero raises to $15.90, UTG calls $0.85 (All-In)

River: ($31.15) 2Image (2 players, 1 all-in)

question for you trishan

why don't you have a full stack in any of these examples?

you really should have it automatically top up for a full stack. in the last example, the pot would be $6 bigger if you did.

poker tracker or hem can then keep track of your actual winnings at a certain table so you dont leak away too many chips

I always start with $5 though you are right - I should buy in for the maximum. I need to get HEM.

imho short stacking is bad. the reason is, it doesn't allow you to apply your skill edge as much post flop, which is where most of a skilled player's edge comes from.

buying in for maximum also allows maximum value from those hands where they are gonna put all their chips in the pot regardless of how much they have (i.e set over set, nut flush into second nut flush, etc)

i once asked the question on 2p2 whether it was better to short stack NL25 rather than buyin full for NL10 if the overall skill of the games are the same but your roll doesn't yet allow full buyins for NL25, and the general consensus was that you should always have the maximum chips possible on the table, because it gives you more options to apply your skill edge over the opposition in postflop scenarios.

Just sat down at my table, noticed I had a note on someone.

"3."

I have no idea what that means.
