i would never ever ever ever fold a set ever. seriously

it really is insanely hard to flop a flush, they almost never have it, and if they do, then just pay them off. you still have outs if they have flopped it.

it was limped preflop, so there is nothing to suggest that this board has hit any of their range.

its a double fist pump shove for mine and pray to dodge some cards. but you are behind here like 10% of the time at most

You've never, or would never, fold a set?

i just ran a few scenarios in pokerstove. when i say flush draw, i gave them the nut flush draw.

set vs flush vs random = 35%
set vs straight vs flush draw = 34%
set vs flush vs QJ (2 pair) = 27% - as bad as it gets for you
set vs flush vs flush = 34%
set vs flush draw vs pair plus flush draw (i.e actual scenario) = 66%
set vs flush draw vs say QT = 50%
set vs 2 random hands = 66%

so even in the worst case scenario, you are pretty much getting pot odds to call here.

interesting discussion though.

on a monotone board, on the flop, i have never folded a set. the only time i have ever folded them is facing on the turn or river on a 4 card straight or flush board, and even then i dont a lot of the time.

I gotta agree with benny the cunt here, particularly since you have them both out chipped.

Even if they hit the flush, if the board pairs you will likely have the best hand....

You gotta call that. Even if you lose, you are still alive, and you have a really good chance to put someone out here...

a big hand for me at the start of the last state finals was when i flopped bottom set and got it in against top pair plus nut flush draw. faded outs FTW!!!
