Did he raise pre with any of those many hands that he played?

Either way, money went in good, I wouldn't have re-raised unless he raises often with marginal hands, unlucky though.

You got your money in good, but the situation depends on what and where you are playing.

$1-$10 buy in and i snap call, in fact i'd wait for a hand like this or a flopped two pair to trap a player like this, but heres a heads up for you.......If you wanna stay in the tourny (its cost you a big buy-in or you are near the bubble or you need points), STAY AWAY FROM THESE TYPES OF PLAYERS.

You dont have to be a better player, or luckier, to outlast these players, but let someone else take them on or only do it when you are the big stack or well chipped up.

This guys range pre is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!

He could have EASILY had K4 or A4 in is range, hell he coulda had 4-9 off and he'd still shove, but do you wanna tango that this guy doesnt hit his 2 pair or trip up? STAY AWAY

And why re-raise a guy you KNOW is gonna call with pissy little AJ?

If you're gonna take him on, FLAT, FLAT, FLAT everything until you have the nuts or next best and trap him.

You cannot play a player like him the way you did, he leaves you no options. You had to put your chips in with top pair, pissy kicker, with a flush and a straight draw already out there against a guy whose hand you have ZERO idea about.

Just another way to look at it. ;)

Yes everyone, a JACK is a PISSY kicker!
I fold AJ until final table every time nowadays*, its cost me the most of any other hand in its "range". Check your own stats and you'll see you should stay away from it also.

*(unless i have MASSIVE stacks, good reads on everyone and table control)

One more thing.....

If this were a cash game or a hand at the casino i couldnt get my chips in quick enough.
Because if i bust out, i'll just re-buy.

But it still amazes me how people wanna race for their tourny lives with AJ off.

Thats one of the things i love about poker, same game technically, but different scenarios mean one day you fold a hand and the next day you play the hell out of the exact same cards, you just gotta learn what to do at each given time and thats why this game takes sooo long to master.
