PLO advice - was I right to be this aggressive?

Postby rcon » Wed Mar 03, 2010 1:01 am

This is rush, so no reads, but I think I should have given up after the flop. I just have trouble giving up on a hand without taking at least two stabs at it - seems so unnatural :D

Also, I've tightened up my starting range *massively*, but is this still too loose for calling that raise PF?

Full Tilt Pot-Limit Omaha, $0.10 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

UTG ($11.30)
MP ($9.98)
CO ($6.15)
Button ($10.30)
Hero (SB) ($16.12)
BB ($28.29)

Preflop: Hero is SB with AImage, 10Image, KImage, 10Image
UTG bets $0.35, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.30, 1 fold

Flop: ($0.80) 9Image, 4Image, 6Image (2 players)
Hero bets $0.80, UTG calls $0.80

Turn: ($2.40) 2Image (2 players)
Hero bets $2.40, UTG calls $2.40

River: ($7.20) 3Image (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $3, Hero folds

Total pot: $7.20 | Rake: $0.48

Results:
UTG didn't show
Outcome: UTG won $6.72

the [2h] on the turn doesn't really change anything. if he was going to call a bet on the flop, then he is always calling with that turn card.

i probably think its a check-fold on the turn

It's rush. Can't say too much.

But if you're going to be that aggressive with f.all post, why not 3-bet pot it pre?

Pre flop is fine. Need to reevaluate on the flop to see where you are going with the hand.

The Flop line is easy to fire out to build a pot and also to see what he would do.

I don't like the turn bet though. Firing a pot bet, just reeks more of desperation than anything. Hence why he can fire out the $3 river bet and you can fold. he takes down a $7 pot. As benny the cunt said he isn't going to be folding to the [2h] as it doesn't seem to be adding to the board unless he is loose and extremely lucky and has hit the straight.

If you had the check/check line on the turn. Then the 2.40 bet on the river might be able to get him to fold as the pot isn't big enough for his overpair to stick around.

Can't rep that. :-) He called the raise preflop.

I probably would have only bet the turn if the 9 was a heart.
