Did I play this wrong?

I was playing in the midnight mania tournament and their were about 20 people left and I am dealt [Jc][Js] in UTG, I raise to 700 which is 3 and a half times the big blind at the time, I get four callers UTG+1, the SB and the BB, the flop is [3d][4c][8d], the BB checks, the SB bets the pot at 2800 and I shove over the top to 14086, UTG+1 snap calls to put himself all-in and at risk, the SB folds, and the BB folds, UTG+1 rolls [8h][9h] and the turn is a [9d] and I can't hit any of my outs on the river which is a [2c].
What did I do wrong if anything, was I just unlucky or just on the wrong end of what I consider to be a bad call.

You were just unlucky man. Im doing exactly what you did 95% of the time unless i had a super-specific read on my opponent. and even then id still probably shove.
unlucky man. throw something, kick the dog and load up some rush omaha to soothe the tilt away...

if it makes you feel any better, you will win that 82% of the time.
dont forget though, that still means you will lose roughly 1 in 5 times
990 games 0.005 secs 198,000 games/sec
Board: 3d 4c 8d
Dead:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 81.616% 81.62% 00.00% 808 0.00 { JcJs }
Hand 1: 18.384% 18.38% 00.00% 182 0.00 { 9h8h }

Just on this, think about it this way.
18% of the times you win, you owe him some of the pot

not really dude.
that should read "every time you win, you should owe him 18% of the pot"

Yeah, that's way clearer than what I was saying.

You could not have done anything different. Guy had top pair, fair enough, but with a 9 kicker ? What the? Unfortunately you were playing with the unluckiest hand in poker....Pocket Jacks....Whenever you're ready Caroline....jump in...Familiar territory here...

unfortunately eddy hasn't given us the stack size of the opponent. if his pot bet put more than about 30% of his stack in the pot, then he is correct to call the rest off most of the time.
if it makes you feel better, final table of a 90 man SNG last night, effective stacks 14bb, i decided to limp aces from the cutoff (i basically never do this, and now i know why

) flop comes 752, dude pots it, i jam, he snaps off with 74o and of course hits the 7 on the turn.

There are 4 ways to play pocket Jacks. All of which are wrong.

True, but would you call 30% of your stack pre flop with mid range suited connectors ? Seriously over rated. See your point, once he has committed this much and he's hit top pair, well...

Hmmm
Limp pre flop then slow play = WRONG
Limp pre flop then aggressive = WRONG
Push pre flop then aggressive = WRONG
Push pre flop then slow play = WRONG
Shut your eyes, Fold/Run away screaming is the obvious answer then...yeah, I like it..
