Final Table K9

As most will know that K9 / K8 are cards that are in my playable range, wether this is right or wrong is not the up for discussion, it more the attitude of how player deal with being beaten by them.

I'm in the SB with the blinds at 100/200.

SB 6525
BB 6403
UTG 6172
MP 4671
CO 7220
Button 2909

UTG folds
MP raises to 800
CO folds
SB calls [kd] [9d]
BB folds

My opponent has a solid rep as a player but has been caught a couple of times playing court cards against pockets and overbeating.

The flop [9h] [2h] [jh]

SB checks
MP checks

Turn [jc]

SB bets 400
MP calls

River [6d]
SB bets 800
MP calls

SB wins the hand with 2 pair Jacks and 9's

MP shows [ad] [qd]

And them makes a couple of unwarranted comments in the chat box, which in my opinion tarnishes the rep of this player in my eyes.

I am happy with how I played the hand, so put yourself in the position of the MP player how would you have played the hand, against a player with a wider playable range.

Fold K9 to a raise preflop. End of story.

As played c/r turn.

I saw the hand and the comments made, I have no issues with you playing it and the other player should have laid down his hand. You hit he didn't as simple as that.

MP plays a lot of crap hands, i raised [2c] [4c] and he re-raised with a 3 6 something i believe. He was pretty pissed off then too.

I've got no issues with you playing them hands. Are they good cards to call raises with, I doubt it Stove has you at 35% to win hand over AQ.

to be honest i think his play is to blame here.

he had a perfect oppourtunity to put the pressure on with a c bet on the flop, had he bet 1200 to 1600 here i think you would have had to lay down, instead he checks, i cant say i really like a 4 x raise pre flop then a check on the flop, when you have 2 overs and a flushing board.

In my opinion you made a pretty weak/bad turn bet of 400 into a 1800 pot so he also missed an oppourtuntiy here to re raise.

That bet on the turn gundog was just pricing him into call, its the sort of hand that will see you getting rivered because you alowed him to see the river while getting 5:1 for his call.

i also would have liked to see a slightly stronger river bet but it did induce a call so i guess that was ok.

I would have shoved AQ pre-flop.
