4 handed, no stats on villain, hard to define his range. Has taken several weird lines over the last level, when this hand arises:
$400/$800 Blinds No Limit Holdem - *** 09 07 2010 00:16:27
Tournament #27566201 $20 + $2 - Table #2 (Real Money)
Seat 9 is the button
Total number of players : 4
Seat 4: bennyjams ( $26,345 )
Seat 5: Villain ( $34,158 )
Seat 9: Dialectrix ( $18,459 )
Seat 10: iPumpFishies ( $41,038 )
Dialectrix posts ante [$80]
iPumpFishies posts ante [$80]
bennyjams posts ante [$80]
Villain posts ante [$80]
iPumpFishies posts small blind [$400]
bennyjams posts big blind [$800]
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to iPumpFishies [ Ts Th ]
Villain raises [$1,600]
Dialectrix folds
iPumpFishies calls [$1,200]
bennyjams calls [$800]
** Dealing flop ** [ Jd Qd Td ]
iPumpFishies bets [$3,200]
bennyjams folds
Villain raises [$32,478]
Raise pre instead of flat? Check raise flop? Are we calling the shove?

wow this is so weird.
Raise pre, I don't see why we are flatting, explanation plz?
I prefer a c/r as I don't see villian checking back this flop. I think the worst hand we can be up against is a pair/diamond pair/straight combo.
I'm torn, but I wanna call.

Yeah line is confusing.
I think I will 3b OOP 90% of the time, but there is a good reasoning to smooth against villain (if he is aggressive) for the revers implied odd values (but we talking about opponents in a +EV field for anyone with some sembelance of mathematical and level 2 thinking.)
I don't like the odds we are getting on the flop here for our bottom set against a straightening and drawing board; I think the correct +EV play for you scott, with no reads, is to fold here and find a better spot to commit stacks.
I on the other hand toss a coin to decide whether I call or not, let the fates decide. Seriously though, with no reads and a shove of that nature I think we are drawing pretty slim with a set against an unknown range.

Because you didnt define his range pre he could be thinking exactly the same way you are with QQ or JJ .
As played, this is a easy fold with no stats and no defining of villians range. just soley off how the hand played, i think he has JJ or QQ, because i donsnt make sense to jam the with AA, KK , AK, 89dd, k9dd, Aqo (with A diamonds), Ajo (with A diamonds),JQo which is pretty much the rest of his raising range pre

+1 you would have to put him on the over set or AQ-AJ and shoving to protect against the flush himself, I think if he has the flush draw he prolly dont play it this way but without a read kinda hard to say... for me its a fold

dont forget that a lot of 888pl villains like to turn their value hands into bluffs by taking this weird line.
this could easily be AA or KK or QJ or QT
having said that, i am folding and waiting for a better spot here.
