would be a gd idea if they have a drink card like the Semaphore Palais does when u get there poker deal. so one card get ya one drink. card would have to say 1 pint of pale or some thing along them lines.

i have a idea for once ben. between me and you we should be able to come up with a system to make it easy for pubs to keep track of who has bought there drinks in advance and some rules. after we have we come up with a system i will put it foward to the npl and my local pub the grandjunction hotel.

i think simply printing up some "this card entitles you to" cards, with spirit, soft drink, and pint or schooner of beer on them would be enough.

make them different colours, even put an NPL stamp on them so its harder to copy.

this would be an easy way to go about it.

i think this should be a widespread thing, it would make it a lot of sense, and help to grow NPL

I have to say, that's not a bad idea.

I've seen at the Palais (one of Lukes regular venues) the little plastic cards that Geezer uses as bounties for us NE'ers when we head over there for a game. It's just a 'this card entitles the bearer to a free pint of beer' type thing.

I can't really see a reason why venues couldn't have something similar saying 'bearer of this card has pre-paid for a beverage' and on a space below it the bar staff write what the beverage is and whack an NPL stamp on it for authenticity.

Then they could stamp you up there and then and there'd be plenty of time to enjoy your drink(s). If you don't use the card then tough boobies.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

I agree prepaid drinking is much more responisible.

Personally I don't buy alcohol because I am not a drinker, but they were finding punters were prepaying for drinks getting stamped up then later that night getting money back for the drinks they had not drunk.

Therefore stopping some people from prepaying, (I think the ones that got the refund were regulars).

Anyway, I agree, prepaying is the way to go.

Good question.

Easy sollution:

Skull Skull Skull

No really great idea. I sometimes prepay for a drink (always after a badbeat). The bar staff keeps track somehow.

It's also 'solution'

Roger might've been referred to the bar staff's skulls and their increased brain capacity to remember who has paid for what.

The majority of pub tills have the paper readouts or receipts these days. If you preorder your drinks and take one with you they cross it off and give you the slip which has your remaining order on it.

When you want another drink you either give it to the table waitress or take it to the bar yourself and all they need to do is cross off what you have each time.

Problem solved

Your cards are already stamped up,

Your till receipt is your record for getting another drink,

Which solves having to give the waitress money at the table,
Remember, It takes 8 muscles to smile :D and 40 to frown :(
