If it's too hard, then well - it's bad luck. Sorry.

The people visiting venues etc contribute so much towards the 888PL, not least of all, for the prize money on offer.

Isn't too much to expect that.

Otherwise, everyone would just not rock up - and go play the satellites etc, and get tickets that way.

awww but its cheaper to sit on my ass in front of the computer and play all day but not pay any money, why cant i get a free ticket , worth heaps more than i contribute ;)
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Fair enuff , wasn't complaining , just saying that it is a tad hard for some , and i know it is only once a week .

Guess going to play the freerolls at the pubs , i do contribute more towards the prize moneys , than playing the 888pl cash games online , seeing that i play for free at the pub :?

It would be nice to be able to set a single night aside to go to the pub for 4-5 hours , once a week , but i guess that is just my lifestyle with FT work , family of 6 , and small business on the side .

I dont think i would be up to the standard of playing an event like the GF anyhoo , but if i was to get the chance of a ticket , i probably would give it to someone else who may be able to cash so we both come out in front .. ;)

Cheers P ;)
When choosing between the 2 evils , I like to choose the 1 i haven't tried yet !

Yeah I can definitely understand this. TBH I think its a bit much of 888pl to have this as a requirement - and not just for the players that don't live near a venue. I mean, I can see what they're trying to do behind the initiative, reward players that give something back etc.

But where does the line stop? As was mentioned, does someone with no internet access that pumps $100 a week into venues get preference over someone that plays $30 or so of challenge games a week but can't play any live games? If so, why? Just because they live close to venues?

Before everyone attacks this post all I'm saying is that for players that have a full time job, family commitments... it could be an issue to get away each week.

You have to remember, the reason 888PL can offer all these prizes is because people are going to venues, thus giving 888PL an income. The less people going to venues, means less income, means less prizes.

The online games aren't a source of income for 888PL afaik.

Des is correct, online games should be supplementary to a player actually supporting 888pl. Remember someone playing 100 $2 games is not pumping $200 into 888pl, rather 20c per tourney, and none of that goes to 888pl either.

If you can't support 888pl in venue at least once a week then you don't deserve to qualify for large events. And if you live too far away from a venue, then you are fortunate to particpate in 888pl at all via online, you are lucky rather than disadvantaged.

i think the ten games a season rule is perfect.

Was under the impression that it was only 10 away games needed to qualify.
Will mention this to Garth when he gets back. Expect some response on Monday

if the schedule had games between 1700 and 2030 it would be fairer for the player who's not a 9 to 5er, the online games are geared to Retired, Homemakers, schoolies and bludgers
