I think timing the GF with the JHDS was great, and since they are a bi-annual event also, it would be great to continue this tradition! I would definitely extend my stay to include some of the events during the week as some of them have awesome structures.

This was also the happiest and most relaxed I have seen the 888pl staff on GF weekend. Having the event at Crown definitely takes a great deal of workload off you guys and allows you to actually enjoy the event.

I don't think raising the buyin by $50 to host at Crown would be much of an issue, it also gives the players who don't play Casino tournaments a chance to experience it, and gives the event a lot more cred.

All in all, another great event guys, well done.
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

March 2011 GF Feedback

Yah best tournament yet I didn't mind 10 mins breaks if that is the norm.

The bounty on Friday night was very to short stacked for my liking.

A little more notice on the JHDS would have been nice, could have taken a few extra days off work.

Nice to have a smoke with warnie gotta give up again now :)

Within 24 hours of Crown Poker finalising the structure and schedule we alerted players via all comms channels barring SMS. Crown generally don't publicise schedules well in advance

I thought it was awesome, even with the already mentioned teething issues.

I was there on the Thursday night, the 888PL promo stuff looked fricken awesome and I'm genuinely sad that not everyone got to see it. I'm a bit mad at myself for not taking a pic because I was going to and decided against it for whatever stupid reason at the time.

Loved the Bounty Event, what welcome party? Would like to see a wrap-up party though, could be a lot of fun and the staff definitely deserve it because they worked their rears off.

The GF structure was great (ignoring the breaks) and totally agree about players needing to realise where they are with regard to BB's.

My one and only complaint is that the breaks were a joke, I don't care who organised what tourney, 10 mins at dinner or lunch time is nothing short of retarded. Frankly, I expect that to change. I know it was advertised as 20 min for the Saturday main break, and I'm aware it was Crown's decision to limit it to 10 mins. It's still retarded. It's also still pretty poor that this wasn't known in advance. Fix your comms channels and do it yesterday, it's your biggest weakness by far and you really need a massive rocket in this department - totally unprofessional and consistently letting us down with giving wrong information. I can't even begin to tell you how many players are just completely over that sort of thing happening time and again.

If paying an extra $50 meant you guys having control of the breaks, I'd pay it no problem.

Very much enjoyed how there was so much else on offer if knocked out of the GF, especially the JHDS starting on the Sunday - it really makes the Adelaide Casino look like a complete joke (because it is).

I would have liked to see 888PL only cash tables (and I thought this was supposed to be happening?), but the VIC regulars are just as crap (possibly worse?) and I enjoyed taking their money too so no harm done and I'm sure I'll get over it :)
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Not to hi-jack this thread too much, but if anyone sees this is any store in Adelaide please let me know. It's incredibly hard to find. And please make sure it's Hynotiq and not Alize. Alize is an extremely poor rip-off of the same recipe.

Used to be in THe Foster's portfolio but i think it was around 2 years ago that they removed it. Will keep an eye out for you if i find which distributor it is.

Mind you trying to bring some chambord vodka back from the states for the Brown Forman rep, stuff is supposed to be golden. Like party in your mouth, and you are getting laid goodness.

Just for the record, there was only one day that required the dinner break and that was Day2, Day 1 finished at 7pm so inserting a 40 - 50 minute dinner break for Day 1 was redundant.

Secondly it was known well in advance that this was to occur, as soon as Crown confirmed the structures we reposted stories and notes everywhere, in the initial mail out we stated clearly that these are the proposed structures and may change due to Crown's operational requirements. We stated that again and again. We sent emails and Mail outs with the information corrected once it was confirmed and we edited all news stories, website information and pasted that in the forum and on Facebook. If you look at Bec's information you will find it updated with the new information. If Crown decide to change anything on the day there is very little I can do, but as always there is the * to ensure everyone is aware that changes might occur.

All Major tournaments have at Crown have ten minute breaks every two hours with a dinner break for 40 - 120 minutes. The problem is they have never had a deepstack tournament start at 10.10am as most start at 12.10am.

Pete,

We have worked very hard in fixing our communication issues and we have not had any issues in recent times that we had control over. Matty has done an exemplary job in ensuring all comms are completed in time and broadcast over all channels.

In saying the above thanks for the feedback and I am glad you enjoyed the weekend.

Another well done to the 888PL team
I had a great weekend in Melbourne and the Crown. We had a great apartment unfortunately my back was and still is playing up so bad the missus had to fend for herself.

The atmosphere of playing the GF at the Crown was awsome and sitting on the final table from the first hand was a nice touch. On a lighter note! I remember thinking to myself, chit if I'm good enough to make it right through to the actual final table I will leave an impression of my arse cheeks totally imbedded in this chair LOL.

Like others are saying on here the first break threw me off a bit too. I thought we had a 20 min break even though I heard the 10 min announcement and missed 3 or 4 of my BB's.

As far as the $500+$50 fee is concerned! If I don't win one I'll pay my way just to experience the moment once more.

The idea of having some exclusive "888PL players only" tables sounds like a great idea if it were possible. Have an online only event with our online names would be a fun game and actually see what some of these onliners really look like LOL.
Remember, It takes 8 muscles to smile :D and 40 to frown :(
