I ddint' realise you'd made any final tables Steve? lol.

I'm pretty sure if you can't transfer them to others, they'll be checking you off against their database - which means they might be able to check if you've made any even when you haven't got the proof. Anyway, not all TD's have had prize packs all the time - surely there would need to be some sort of checking mechanism.

Yes, Garth has said before that the actual chips are relatively useless - TD's will be checking our FTT number by the database. I've gone to numerous events where no FTT's were even awarded, so yeah, they had a backup plan.

Awesome news!
I have to admit I was hoping this would be the answer.

Does this make sense?

Yeah, it truly does and again.. awesome!
It does lead to a few more questions.. LOL...
(questions questions questions.... will she ever stop!!!)

I am assuming venue leader means if a place has 2 games a week, the leader is determined over both the days and not by each night/day the tourney is played?
So instead of 2 players you just get the 1?

Also say a particular player is tops at 2 venues, does the best score count and the 2nd place winner gets the ticket instead?

All venue leaders are those who finish 1st on any venue leaderboard (different days and times count as separate leaderboards).

If a player finishes first at multiple venues then they have finished first at two venues or on two leaderboards and second will not get that extra bonus.

Just spied this thread and I've read through it and I like the look and sound of season 9 thus far myself.

The bonus points for top 3 on any given night... kudo's. Love the extra reward for those players that can get up there.

I assume with the state leaderboard teams event that if say position number 4 can't make it or doesn't want to play that the next person on the list (11th highest point scorer) would grab the next spot and so on?

I'm also interested to hear more about the 3 day event such as if it would be a varying location that it would be played in and what might be played (just NL or other styles)

Are you able to elaborate on...

o Venue Winner Bonus (the highest placed ‘venueaderboard winner’ in thein Event receives $1000, 2nd receives $500 and 3rd gets $300)

Longish day and I might just be missing something but I can't figure it out for the life of me. I might just need a drink to clear my head. If it's already been covered, just tell me to look harder and I'll have 2 drinks.

I'm relatively impartial to the double points. Doesn't REALLY bother me either way but I think there'll be plenty of people that will cry murder about it.

And a big question... will the NPL website actually be able to keep up to date with all of these different competitions, games and events? At the moment, as you all know, it's pretty woeful.

Other than that I think that it's pretty much a positive outlook for Season 9. Have to give a hearty thumbs up to effort to improve the competition and rewards for the NPL players.
Will dance for your chips!

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
