there are a lot of players who just like to winge about things and tell others how to fix the problem but won't take the steps to make it happen.

Aren't these completely contradictory?

Here's how stupid this entire thread is.

Someone asks others how to fix the problem in completely the wrong place (good guy)
Others point out the right place to go and fix the problem (bad guys)
The original someone acts upon said advice, then complains that those who helped are negative and whingy (hero)
The helpful others are confused about WTF has even happened in this entire thread, and how it got so stupid (bad guys)
Other stupid people join original person to celerbrate that they have solved their problem (good guys)
Others still wonder why the hell this thread is even going (bad guys).

Silly me, I assumed this section would be directed to and answered by someone within 888PL management. Had I realised it was open to all and sundry to make unrelated and personal comments I may have sent a PM to someone like Garth.

I suppose I could have placed it in "general poker chat"!! Especially for something as trivial as not being unable to read the English language in a chat section because it has letters replaced with frigging stars.

Think a lot of the misunderstanding as to how players use the chat box online.

Personally, and i assume other poker players, keep their chat to the minimum and don't often like to talk to other players except for the usual gg, wp, nh e.t.c. Mainly the point being when your talking about your family and friends and what you are doing over the weekend sort of becomes an annoyance when you have just taken out a person in a tourney or have taken them for 5 buy ins over the table. Quite certain after you have taken their $50 and then asked them to bring a bottle of bourbon to the bbq on Saturday, Can put people into a state. Hence why a lot of people don't chat.

For the regular 888pl player, who is playing socially, when the conversation becomes more indepth and a hell of a lot lengthier. More words are there that usually don't appear to be censored but sometimes do. When you see Ho, ass, and whatever else. You can guess that most times that they are used, aren't in an everyday sense but more of a derogatory nature.

For forumers to be arguing over a point where some people look at it as a trivial fact whilst others consider to be a big issue all comes down to the relevance to the people. Suggestions were made, they were taken, and it seems like the issue has been resolved. Inflection and tonation is also lost through a medium such as a forum. Even using emoticons people can still feel as if they are being chided or berated or reading something into a post where it is not there.

As has been stated by Garth, 888 and 888pl both have different priorities at the moment. To social players vs recreational players vs diehard players also have different priorities in their online environment.

As far as i am concerned now. This topic will be locked. My say is not the be all and end all and can be reopened by the other mods. I just don't want to see anyone say something that will be detrimental to their 888pl experience.
