To me the answer is that somebody is completely incompetent, lacks thoroughness, is obviously unable to check their work, and should be shot (and that's just Nathan!).

But I do tend to be a harsh critic :)

This is pure speculation on my part but it looks very much like there's been a bit of "yep we can do that!" which in reality means "oops, thought you meant something else, nope can't be done"

I'm also completely over it and just wish someone would put their hand up publicly and say "yep, I/we/someone else have cocked it up beyond belief - but this is what's being done to fix things, and this is the ETA for the fix".
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

If the home game points are not fixed soon, we will not know who wins the Dream Team competition until after the end of the season.

Kinda seems no point to the DT competition if:
a) You have no idea where you sit on the ladder
b) The prizes in reality are not what has previously been conveyed to players

ditto. and if management are quiet on the forum - their easiest way of quickly communitcating with the public, what is the hope that Joe Bloggs the TC has any extra information to give to Mr Average Joe Punter at a local venue.

People on this forum largely represent of group who are among the most loyal and 'patriotic' 888pl supporters. If this same group of people is now (largely) quite pissed off at the whole situation, then i think there is a substantial problem.

I think i said in this thread or somewhere else that 888pl are lucky that in south australia they are completely dominant in terms of market share (at least in the areas i frequent anyway). No longer can 888pl simply rely on providing the most professionally run in-venue games when clearly they need to get their act together in a lot of other areas.

Fair enough, but Garth himself isn't 888pl. This certainly wasn't a go at garth individually.

No, but Garth would generally respond to all this.

I have read the thread. I have a more thorough response planned but I need to verify that I am permitted to release some information.

The truth is initially what we did have planned with 888 for Dream Team members was unable to be provided. To say I was unhappy, and am still unhappy, with my inability to offer what was teased at would be an understatement.

I must stress though that at no time was hard core promises made to players in regards to what the Dream Team Experience was and what a member of the Dream Team received. Again in this case I thought it prudent not to promise anything as 888 seemed to be in whole hearted support of our ideas one day and the next we could not get an assertive answer from them. In saying that; 888 have provided many benefits to this company and these positives should not be overlooked, but as a player I can understand why giving a shit about this is the least of your priorities.

Each season the Dream Team will receive a Dream Team ring, possibly some 888 merchandise and a poker experience as offered by 888. What this is, is always yet to be determined except for perhaps two weeks before the handing out of prizes.

I am back from a well warranted and much needed rest. We are working on fixing all of our scoreboard issues and Tim, Michael and myself have become glorified help desk and customer support technicians. There is much to be done with the back end of our systems and this is no fault of our programmers but rather mis communication and design faults. We are proactively seeking to rectify these issues as we expand our capabilities within our software to operate in Queensland and other licensed states.

Tim has been very proactive in identifying several issues with our website and said player's experiences on the website, as well as identifying our communication issues, where major content is located as well as genbeal navigation of the website. After we have rectified the scoreboard issues (most of the scoreboards should be live now and you should be able to view individual day scoreboards for online and away events), we fix the duplicate account issues and I upload all online results tonight ( I will be up to about 3 am so please feel free to entertain me) and then we finally finish our phase 2 drop of updates for March 12th; the next major project is to fix the website and content into something more appropriate and conclusive for our players. Of major importance is the communication factor and our player interactions.

We also have several plans in place to alleviate communication and support issues from players and to once more take us to the fore front of the pub poker and poker league industry. I would say we have not grown complacent but have bitten of far more than we could chew at a time were so much of our promised deliverables rely on outside sources and independant companies.

As always I apologise profusely for this lack of professionalism on our part and no excuse or reason will ever be good enough, in my mind, to make up for any negative impact our players' experience by the changes, delays or communications that ultimately I am responsible for.

Agree it is fair enough .... but ,

[blah blah blah blah irrelevent babble , edited post ]

Again , this is NOT in anyway a stab at anyone personally .

I do understand the issues with introducing "NEW" and innovative ideas and stuff , to make it a better experience for the user has it's teething problems , shit we have been waiting 18 months for our "Car Club" website to fix the "New site" issues ...
Mind you , it has also come at a cost of losing 80% of the faithful .
I would hate for this to be the same for 888PL ! !

WOOT WOoT , looking forward to see where we are standing ... :)

Plenty of coffee Garth , and rest every 2 hours .... like driving long distances ... ;)
When choosing between the 2 evils , I like to choose the 1 i haven't tried yet !

Chips are like burley , ya need to spread a little around to attract the fishies ...
