What about the person for example .. the Warnambool or Penola resident that only has 1 , maybe 2 venues to attend ?

Not that it bothers me , i have at least 6 venues within a 10-15 km radius ...

/end argumentative post ;)

I do see that the 2 GF's played per year are over 4 seasons tho .. so does that mean one has to play the 10 per season or 10 per GF ?

I think to Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) , it does need to be set in stone as to avoid any confusions ...

I thought i understood , but Calebs post has now confused me , as i thought there was a GF for the end of every season , NOT every 2nd season :?

Apologies ...
When choosing between the 2 evils , I like to choose the 1 i haven't tried yet !

Grand Finals are not reliant on seasons as you do not qualify for the event through any leaderboards.

Grand Finals: 2 per year Feb/Aug like Dakota said
Semi Finals: 1 per season, same as always

Caleb Rybalka wrote:Season are basically 3 months each Bob.

April - June Season 2
July - September Season 3
October - December Season 4

Next GF is being held in Melbourne some time in August/September. End of Season 3. So yes, it's two seasons away.
Obviously, the Garth dates are correct. And I gather from what you are saying is that seasons 1 & 2 are combined into a single GF to be held in Melbourne on the dates suggested by Garth, yes?

Victoria won the SoO. They will host the first GF of 2011. That means they will host 2 in a row including the one they are hosting in 6 months time. Okay, so the same applies to seasons 3 & 4 and will be held in 2011 yes?

So, your saying for some reason or another we are still having 4 individual seasons P/A but we are only going to have 2 GF's P/A. So, what happens at the end of each season?????? ;)

It seems like you are just confusing yourself by overthinking this Bob.
I am a little confused but not due to over thinking. :o I didn't go to the GF weekend, I don't socialise with anyone from 888PL and I have reduced my Forum time to a minimum. So, other than what I occasionally read on the forum or hear online or at the White Horse Inn I'm at a loss.
Confusion over the new site and points multipliers have little to do with the GF. Just relax, and take a deep breath. 8-)Well for starters, even Garth admits the new site is not user friendly at the moment and I guess time will tell if it ever will be!

Unfortunately, the new site only shows me where I'm placed in the various online tourneys I play. But it doesn't show who is above or below me or the points I need to gain or retain a position to make the top five.

I personally enjoyed looking at these results on the old site and knowing that I have gained or lost a position or which tourney I needed to put additional effort into to gain a better position. At the moment I have no idea who is challenging me or who I need to challenge to gain position.

And those points do have everything to do with gaining a seat in the GF. If I made a top 5 position in the DT for a free ticket or finishing in the top 20 for prize money. And the points and positions I gain in other tourneys allow me to qualify for various events like the Semis etc..

Hi there Caleb, I was going to PM you with the above info but thought it was worthy of posting as I know there are others in a similar positions as myself.
please don't take my reply as being arguementive. I seem to have missed a lot of what has been happening within the group in relation to the GF's etc. Regards Bob

EDITTED BY ME; I just read sinisters, Dakotas & Calebs posts re there only being 2 GF P/A and the Semis are for the end of each season. Cheers, I'll leave my post just in case I may have written something of interest LOL MY BAD

Cliffnotes - i could be wrong, i really didnt sit down and read posts thoroughly

4 seasons per year (quarterly)
4 semis per year (quarterly)
2 grand finals per year (bi-annually)

to qualify for gf you need to have 10 games per season for that corresponding GF

i.e. for the next gf (in aug/sept 2010) you will need 10 games per season in seasons 1 and 2 2010

@Scott:

Yes mate, that's exactly the point.

Why the firetruck would someone go and announce something that's clearly NOT correct based on everything that's been seen/heard to date?

May as well advertise Susan Boyle as a high priced escort and hope nobody will say anything to point out how clearly retarded that is.

If you got a mental image from that, sucked in :P
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Big Pete's OP was clear and concise basically asking a clarification of the 10 game rule.

We have had 5 pages back and forth BS all because of 2 missing words "per season".

Crikey 888pl is now about playing live events first and foremost, how difficult is it for you to make a committment to play 10 games per season.

But also bear in mind 888pl management can change a rule at any time they want.
42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Makes sense to me ... ;)

easily obtainable for most too :)
