Player representative council

Hi All,

I have posted this in ASK NPL because I am asking the players of NPL if they like this idea.

Recently I posted about the need for regulation in the pub poker industry. Moving forward and the direction pub poker is taking I think it would be a great time to form a player representative council.

There would be at least two representatives from every region; TD's would nominate players they feel would be ideal for this situation, players would be required to play around two games per week and be respected by their peers. Players could also submit nominations via email to me.

Management would decide on final nominations for each region and a vote would be held on this forum for each region.

The player rep council would be responsible for passing on feedback to management and liaising with management on all NPL related issues. A quarterly meeting would be conducted on a state level every quarter between the council and NPL management, the council would meet every month or as required.

The council would also act as a tribunal, in conjunction with the PM, on all player matters, they would create a player code of conduct and any player found in breach of this conduct would face the tribunal and disciplinary action.

The council would also be the eyes and ears of all players, and NPL players would speak to council members on all NPL related issues that they feel they could not talk to with TD's.

The main task of this council would be to ensure that NPL continues to operate with the goal of establishing the best product to meet the needs of ALL NPL players and to ensure that all TD's and events are ran in an ethical and professional manner, especially when concerned with cash buy in events and in particular large buy in events.

The council would also forumlate any changes to NPL rules as to be voted on by NPL management and the player council.

This is the brief outline I have in my head.

Also, even though the options state so, this is not a judgement on NPL management but rather the thoughts behind why you voted the way you did.

I would also like any other reasoning behind your vote to be listed in this thread if possible.

I voted yes

Its great idea for some player representation particually when we have more buy-in games, as we play at the moment rules and player conduct are some what bent to suit various individuals, both player and TD.(ie my post re registration) which I know has a lot to do with retaining player numbers.

As we move forward I would like to see the removal of the passport draws to chip up players and the bring back draws also the bad beat table, none of these are fair to regular players because they give an advantage to a group of players who are lucky enough to have their cards drawn out.

Passports will always remain a main stay of the NPL competition, no use having venues pay us to host events and we draw players into events that don't spend a dime. The re draws will not apply in cash buy in events, but the rebuys and addon cards will certainly apply.

Also please elaborate on
at the moment rules and player conduct are some what bent to suit various individuals, both player and TD.
there isn't much we can do, if we are not notified about unethical practices by TD's, even posting subtle comments or opinions on the forum doesn't help. And let me mention that I, and as well as the majority of the team, hate it when we are all tarred with the one general negative comment even though it may only be one contractor acting in such a way.

This pisses me off no end, we do have the most professional and non corrupt team anywhere in the country and then for one TD to defame this team by his/her actions is bad enough, but then for players to allow it to happen and then not say anything or not let senior management know pisses me off even more, especially when it is announced in such a generic manner on a public forum!

No offense Gundog, it just happens too often and hence why a players rep council is worthwhile, especially considering how often players like to complain about things but do nothing in a proactive or reactive manner and rather continue to denegrate the hard and passionate work of a majority by the stupid and thoughtless actions of the minority.

None taken Garth.

I was using this as an example why I voted yes

I could have written the whole saga in my post about registrations but I wanted the rules clarified and I will take my concerns to the Regional Op

45 views and only 5 votes?

Pathetic!

Contractors can vote as well.
