State of Origin Team Event!!

Hello Poker Fans,

I would Like to Propose an Idea! It's been a long while since we have seen a Team event! It would be awesome if we could run one in each State and take the top 10, 15 or 20 Teams from each state to play in a State of Origin format with an 888 Perpetual Trophy!! I'm sure we could get sponsors on board to help out and make it the Biggest and Best Team Event in the Country!! I have no doubt it will create a lot of Interest and excitement, just like to words Shuffle up and Deal I for one would be more then happy to help in any way I can to make this happen... whats your thoughts on this?

I am extremely tired right now so I will keep this short.

I appreciate your enthusiasm and passion Shannon but what you propose is actually a logistical nightmare and team events are actually the most labour intensive tournaments to run.

We have almost completes Season 1 and all of us are yet to see the full ramifications and accomplishments of a completed season along with new Semi Final and Grand Final formats.

We are currently running a promotion for AFL Grand FInal seats and some of our players are still completely unaware or uncomfortable with the integration of online and in venue.

So at the moment any event of this nature will have to be put on the backburner until early next year and even then it would be a very expensive exercise for 888PL, unless we conducted it online somehow.

I totally understand the magnitude of such an Event and money factor involved. I really believe if we the players could attract sponsorship and high Profile Players to come on board, this all could become a reality in itself in which will give 888pl Major Exposure in the poker world down under and within time with the right people on board, all around the world!

I know I don't stand alone when I say we really appreciate all the hard work you and your team put in for us Garth and all the Opportunities you give us poker players to do what we love and that's to play Poker! I fully understand there are so many Bridges to cross right at this point and time. I know so many people are so very thankful for all the hard work put in to get us gathered around an 888 poker table!

In all honesty I believe us the Poker players should be the one's to step up and make this a reality! In a way of saying thanks 888 for all the hard work you put in and help them gain more exposure and growth. It really comes down to how many would like this to happen, but most of all, how many would HELP make this happen! Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it happen! But a dream doesn't become reality through magic, it takes sweat, determination and hard work.

what? you reckon the players should organise something on behalf of 888pl?

888pl are way too professional to let that happen (and quite rightly in my opinion)

as players, we sometimes fall into the trap of wanting every good idea NOW!

i think this is a great idea shannon, but lest face it, the whole competition is around 3 months old. things like this may well happen in time, but we as players need to be patient.

If you go through the archive for the last teams event. I started keeping track of complete teams, partial teams in a spreadsheet.

Not everyone supplied member id's

Still hadn't worked out completely the structure of recording the shootout events.

Think when it all came together it worked, obviously a few issues still did arise (people not handing their sheets back in).

Not as idea = product. Think there was at least two months organising it all on top of it as well.
