Why don't you play in venue Baydon?

Re: confusion
i dont see why you shouldn't need at least 10 games to qualify for the grand final.
888pl should be aiming to reward people who support the main component of their competition, in venue games, not freeloading off of it.
I would be extremely dissapointed if someone who didn't support the 888pl in really any major way won a lot of cash at the Grand Final.
(Im assuming here that anyone considering a direct buy in to the GF must have still played 10 away 888pl games for them to be eligible for this? I would be annoyed if this was not the case. I know they will be contributing their own money to the prizepool, but i would still like to see this event remain exclusively for people who regularly support the 888pl)

Re: confusion
yes i see that but when i looked at the terms way back in may it didn't say anything about this. guaranteed next season i will play in venues because i will know that i need that to qualify. Also the dream team scoreboard looked like an incentive to play in venue. i have no problem playing in venues.

Agreed, support 888pl and 888pl supports you.
I'm also sure the amount of home games and amount away games has been clearly set from the get go.

Re: confusion
Macca, think back to what used to be called the State Final.
You could play like 3 games and have a venue close (not that that's your fault) and you've likely qualified for the State Final via a top 5.
Easy enough then to say "meh, I've qualified" and sit on it.
Not really being the most supportive of the league, I'm sure we both agree on that.
It's not really very different (speaking in terms of level of support) for someone to fork out $500 of their hard earned, if that's what they chose to do. Or even $50 for a GF SNG. And 'qualify' for the GF.
Would you really frown upon someone for buying directly in and doing well when they've really just spent $500 for the privelege? I think that could be construed as a bit harsh.
There's also bound to be players who *want* to play away games and simply cannot, but I do accept they're likely to be a minority.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Re: confusion
This season; away game qualification for finals will be waived. You must still be an 888PL member that that has been active this season to buy in directly to the 888PL Grand Final.
Next season the ten away game qualification rule will be bought into effect.

This affected like 10 players a season. So this point is redundant.
If players can qualify for all major tournaments without playing away games, then what is the incentive to play that extra game or that extra venue?

I *want* to play in the WSOP next year, but can't afford it, therefore they should make buy-ins lower...
Get my point? If they can't play away games, but simply cannot, then they simply cannot play in the bigger tournaments imo. simple.
I understand the problems they have had for this season, but next year they should def have a qualification minimum or 10 games for all major tourneys.
EDIT: fair enough garth.
