Good Evening All,
After the Grand Final on the weekend, the popularity of the bounty game and once again witnessing the great dynamic that occurs when TC's and players mix we have decided to possibly reverse our stance on our position of contractor's and management playing in events. Obviously some conditions would apply and here is where the discussion comes in and your vote comes in.
There would be conditions and stipulations around contractors playing in events and they are listed below. Some criteria must be met for this proposal to move forward.
Demand from contractors to participate in regular 888PL events whilst off duty is at an all time high. And many players miss the aspect of challenging themselves against the contractors.
In no particular order here would be the conditions:
1.) A code of conduct for contractors participating in 888Pl events would be drawn up and strictly adhered to. Any breach of the code would result in, at a minimum, suspension from work and playing for a period of time to the maximum penalty, instant dismissal and indefinite suspension from 888PL.
2.) Contractors can place in the points at events and be placed on leader boards.
3.)Contractors cannot qualify for finals or payouts on score boards but all points accumulated go towards a legitimate Contractor score board where prizes are awarded at the end of the season.
4.) Contractors cannot win 888PL prizes at events.
5.) Contractors are not permitted to play Challenge Away events of Foundation Home events unless that event is identified as a Contractor Bounty event. Our integrity is maintained if contractors play for money only online and not in venue and we can't have contractors filling up seats in limited seating online freerolls.
6.) All management of FHG must attend and play in 2 events per calendar month
7.) A positive response from players to this proposal via an anonymous forum poll - at least 500 unique votes must be submitted of which 65% or greater are in the affirmative for this proposal.
Let the discussion begin!

Re: 888Pl TC's to return to play in regular competition
I voted "no issue and I miss playing against TDs", however as part of the T&Cs of them returning I'd like to see a commitment to playing to win, and ensuring they play accordingly.
I'm not particularly fussed when TDs play "random style" poker (I see it as an op to chip myself up) as they have a shift starting elsewhere (or similar), but I do know this is a major source of frustration from some of the more "points orientated" players, and is why most of the people I know who complained about TDs playing, were doing so.
BRING IT ON I say
edit: oh yeah, and the reason I don't want them complaining again, is because I'd hate to see the TDs leave the competition again!

I don't mind playing against TD's even if they're not playing properly. There's hundreds of drunkards doing the same.
We've how about links I would like to know I walk the line scrunches line at how the client Lawrence etc. etc.

i also didn't mind if the contractors played a bit silly, but i can see how some people would get annoyed.
having their own leaderboard is a great idea, and alleviates most of these issues
well done

Bingo!
I'm all for it, I love handing the TD's a poker lesson. the lesson is generally that old man Swanky is a crap player, but let's not get side tracked here.
Bring it on, the haters out there don't know when they're are on to something good.

I like your style Garth, putting it out there for the people to decide. Here is my contribution to the discussion:
I don't think TCs should be allowed to play in any Away event linked to the main leaderboards. I just don't think you can maintain integrity when TCs have access to a bucket full of chips and no auditing system in place (nobody ever knows how many chips should be in play vs entries + stamped passports + bonus chip cards etc.)
I play pub poker for drinks and fun, purely entertainment and a chance to catch up with mates, so really I don't care, but if I was playing several times a week for points or leaderboard placings (as I have in the past and may do again in the future) I would not want TCs playing in my tournaments. Home Challenge games is a different matter, the possibilities for cheating / chip dumping to friends are no more advantageous to TCs than regular players here. I have no problem with TCs playing these games however I imagine it is not the experience people are after.
I would love to think that every contractor 888pl hires is 100% honest and would never cheat or do anything to bring the game into disrepute, but this would be naive, especially if you put prizes on the line.
I sincerely like all the contractors in the Geelong region, and all the 888pl contractors I met at State Finals and at the Grand Final. I also like playing cards with them, however I don't believe the league's integrity can be maintained if they are playing in the tournaments linked to prizes / leaderboards.
How about holding regular events that are not linked to the leaderboards in which contractors are welcome?
My two cents.

Good luck getting 500 votes! I don't have any issues with staff playing in their own time.

The reasoning behind this is quite simple.
Contractors must be proactive in getting players to the forum if they really want this to happen.
And for 500 players to come onto the forum to vote on this and see contractors play once again means that it is something that players want, even if it is a minority.
Otherwise it would be the same forty people that post here, and no offence guys, but you account for a very small minority of 888PL players.
By the way nice post from Mike. Well thought out and eloquent.

Yep that seems reasonable. No expiration date on this 500 vote offer?
