New online game(s)

Been away from 888PL for a while, come back and see some new game(s), like '6 Max Skill Test'
What does 'Skill Test' refer to?
I mean, aren't all tourneys a test of skill?
Is there some criteria to these tourneys like: Must steal blinds X times, or whatever, or is it just a title and nothing more?

Edit: And I saw 'Deep and Short' (listed on 888pl.com.au), and I should probably just wait to open a tourney screen for one, but I assume this means 'Deep Stack Turbo'?
If so, why the departure from normal nomenclature?

Thanks Des. I too thought it was obvious.

But unfortunately I have to realise that I cannot cater to all of the masses.

Sigh!

Welcome back to the forum Aaron. Nice first post back. We've missed you too!

Every tournament caters to a different playing style.

6 max is different to full ring, in that less players means a lot more action generated from marginal to sub marginal hands. These starting hands actually have improved odds against less players.

Deep and short. Everybody wants a deepstack tournament, but rather than have lengthy blinds, have it short.

we could do a short and deep, but 500 start stacks with 20 minute blinds just doesn't sound that fun to me.

Welcome back though Aaron.

Brett.

Thanks Garth, and other with similar sentiments.

I did think just making a 6max tournament implied 'test your 6max skills' but as you say about the masses, I forget how many ppl at away games still think a cash game is a tounament you pay cash to enter! So yeah I can see how people who never played shorthanded cant immediatley see it is quite different.
But I have seen similar things to what I mentioned (steal blinds certain amount of times etc) elsewhere, full tilt I think... So not so silly I perhaps think the 888PL has introduced something similar to help newer players... Worth asking though...

Brett: Yes, 500 chips and 20 minute levels doesnt feel right does it
