I got an email today from 888 saying that the software i am using will no longer be supported, and gave me a link to some new software.

my question is.

1.will the tracking cookies stay if i download this version, or do i have to wait for an 888pl version?
2. is this the much hyped NEW software, or just an update of the software that we already use.
3. will there be an announcement about this from 888pl soon?

FYP

1.) Yes, there should be no issue with the tracking cookie as long as you don't play with the registry files. And I am sure that there aren't too many people who play 888PL who know what a registry file is or are smart enough not to play with them.

2.) Negative. When Poker 6 lands you will all be aware of it and 888Poker will launch with a real big song and dance from 888. So it's just an update that is preparing for the BIG update.

3.) What would you like us to announce? Is this in regards to the current update available or the Poker 6.0 release of 888Poker?

ok, this was my main question. this is the first time i have been sent an email about an update, so i thought it may well have been the big update, but then the screen shots in the email look the same as normal. this is what confused me a bit.

this question is in relation to the 888poker stuff, not this update.

Sorry Ladies and Gents but I have been informed that the above comes across as derogatory. I have dealt with almost 1,000 players who I have had to instruct in re installation of 888PL tracked 888 software and I can honestly say that only a handful thus far have know what a registry file is.

The above is not at all meant to be derogatory in any way, rather a simple stating of several facts.

1.) There is no issue with the tracking cookie or a player's account losing access to restricted 888PL tournaments UNLESS you edit your registry files for pacific poker.

2.) This issue won't arise for the vast majority of players who play 888PL as the majority of them are unaware of what a registry file is or how it operates.

3.) Those players who are aware of registry files and their uses understand the importance of not editing or playing with registry files.

4.) And those who do edit/play with registry files generally have a very good understanding of their use and are aware of what they are doing and trying to achieve.

lol at someone taking offence. 10 bucks says they still dont know what a registry file is.

ah, the joys of dealing with customers hey!
