Is there someway to restrict only forum members to reading a thread/post, so we could have a Forum Only tourney, and put a password in it?

Would anyone be interested in such a tourney?

This has been bought up before, there's a thread somewhere, but it never seems to get off the ground.

the problem seems to be with finding a time that suits everyone

you can easily create a private tourney with a password in the 888 software.

maybe we should just start posting the passwords here. if someone else wants to play, they can, but i dont really see the incentive for them to actually want to. (maybe just to play with that fish AJG )

How do you actually setup a private tournament benny the cunt? Is there somehwere on the 888 website, or do you need to send them an email or something?
I read something about doing it from the software, but cant find anything anywhere...

Another poll with at least 20 votes would be nice.

Didn't garth mention that a forum tournament can be set up as a part of the actual 888pl schedule? i.e. leaderboards and such?

in your lobby, if you go to the top and see "my profile" then you can go to private tourney

i will create one. unfortunately u still can't have antes.

OK thanks for that, just did it, page says to create 'at least 3 days before you want the tourney to start', so will it be possible this week?

If only 2 tables I would be ok with Winner take all, if there are likely more than 12 then maybe std tourney? Obviously impossible to know this in advance, unless we wait and get a list of prospectives to 'sign on' here...

I suppose one way to ensure forum only is to ask here for password by PM? hassle if lots wanna play, but managable for <20. AH not that it really matters

Anyone insterested in a HU shootout tournament sometime?
I assume since it offers tables of 2 that would run a proper HU tourney? Maybe asking alot of 888... I seem to remember a HU under tournaments was badly run a while ago, but maybe its changes now? HU shootouts on SnGs are now run ok, so one can only hope.
