You're a Bunch of Factors

Can anyone please give me a run down on how the blind structure for you cash game run. Over the last month or so I've played at 5 or 6 different venues and the differ greatly. They have varied starting stacks and the rebuy and add on rules are all over the shop. Is there a set structure or are they done on a venue by venue basis

If you could be more specific about the venues you are playing at we may be able to assist you with further information.

Event types and regional cash games do vary from region to region.

Man i'm in your corner. I travel around the Northern parts of the state and have played at Golgol, Euston, Swan Hill and Tooleybuc. They play different blinds at all of them. At Golgol Euston and Tooleybuc, After the first break you can add on up to FIVE times if you hand over $50. It takes the fun out of playing, and makes it into a competition as to who has the biggest billfold. Not much fun for someone like me wanting a "fun" night of poker.

Big Time, I think you've got a few things around the wrong way. Swan Hill is an in house game run under there own structure, whereas Golgol Euston and Tooleybuc are all 888 games. But you are right. Euston and Tooleybuc are run differently to Golgol. Now that in it's self wouldn't be an issue but i'm told that they are all in the same 888 region. You would think that 888 would have all games run the same. Garth can you possibly let me know what blind structure they could be playing.

Many satelittes have something like this to build money for tickets.

IE, Buy in is $10 for 1000 in chips
You can, at the break, addon $10 for 1000, $20 for 3000 or $30 for 5000 which in effect is an addon of 5x.

dave answered it for me - i have played in some grand final satellites which have this sort of structure. (i know its different, but there are some tourneys on stars that have a $5 buyin and you can add on for $25 at the break for 5x if you want to)

Let's clarify a few thing:

1.) Blind structure - the layout of blind level increments and the rate at which they increase.

2.) Tournament/Game structure - the format of the tournament been operated. i.e. Freezeout, shootout, rebuy, cubed, Heads up, six max, turbo, deepstack.

The tournament structure can have an impact on blind structure.

There are rebuy events where you can have infinite add-ons if required. For the majority of our rebuys (especially satellites) we cap the add-ons at 3x but some do run up to 10x.

I am yet to see what the absolute issue is here; venues run different events and thus a venue that operates on Monday night may have a completely different structure to a venue down the street that operates on Tuesday night.

Are the structures consistent at these venues week in and week out? If so then you should be aware of the structures (they are consistent) and this really is a non issue.

The Mildura region is unique as most of the venues are governed by VIC legislation but both GOL GOL and TOLLEYBUC are located in NSW and as such are governed by different legislation (NSW allows a rake to be applied to cash games).

So if there is a grievance here can you please be very specific with the venues and what your experience was. With Mildura located so far away we allow the RM to operate his region as he sees fit (within reason) as it is a unique region and fairly isolated from most of the other 888PL regions or centre of operations.
