This topic may have been discussed previously in another thread but as I'm a once-in-a-blue-moon visitor to the forum I will have missed it.
Anyway, will there be any normalisation of the game results to equalise the top heavy nature of the dream team? Top heavy in that Qld players are cleaning up because they have access to significantly more venue points than any other states.
I didn't ask this question earlier as I believed it so obvious that it would have been addressed long before this. But as a 2nd season has just ended without any attention to this issue I thought I'd ask.

Re: Normalisation of Results
does the dream team points scoring need to be changed
It's a 3 month old thread but I don't think much has changed.

The fact remains that we are talking about a small minority of players that a FT points chasers and that many of you who defended the State scorebaord argument (regional vs. metro) are now taking the Gundog defense to a national level because one region is an 888PL stronghold and goldmine of players.

I will break down the stats later but these guys fit in 70+ games per season whereas the average for SA and VIC players was around the 40 mark.
This is one of my main points.
QLD have the larger number players and demographically more accessible.
The top players can play 7 times a week without leaving the same street.
So we should punish players that play in a region and at venues that HEAVILY support 888PL? And they in turn (the players) heavily support the venues and 888PL. I don't think so.
Demographically more accessible? I am not sure what you mean by that but the geographically most accessible area is Adelaide, there is always at least two games within a 20 minute drive for Adelaide players. Players in Werribee have access to two venues that operate, between them, 5 double headers between them.
In short there are plenty of regions and areas where players have access to 10+ games per week. If the contention is that a bunch of venues draw a huge crowd each and every time then I am happy for them, and I won't do anything to harm these venues, or players, based on a "perceived" imbalance in the competition.
These guys had access to these game, bonus for them, but the calculations and the score board system is the fairest it has ever been. It is now about increasing player numbers at key events in other markets, and that doesn't entirely rest with 888PL. There are plenty of venues that fully support 888PL and the poker product and have players/regular customers themselves support their games and are ambassadors for these venues.
At this stage the Dream Team is only a goal for a very small minority of our player base and I am focused on making a few more changes to the 888PL with a "grand scheme" view. No changes or alteration will be made to the DT scoreboard mechanics or processes AT THIS TIME.

Just read your other post Pete. Please provide your "fairer" alternative?
And have you read any of the solutions that I offered for finding our Dream Team? Because I do believe that having over 200 people in the Dream Team Qualifier and opening access to the possibility of making the Dream Team is quite a substantial improvement.
